Re: The Great Big Scrivener Survey

I've used Scrivener and loved it for years now (on all its platforms) and enjoy reading the posts here but rarely comment, however it's been bothering me that I gave some wrong answers in the survey. I went through the entire thing saying I didn't use Scrivenings as I'd no idea what it was  . ...

Re: Upgrade question

v.3 for Windows hasn't been released yet, it's due out sometime this year, though you can try the Beta version for free. If you've only recently bought Scrivener you may well get v.3 for free anyway. Meanwhile the Beta of v.3 still has a few bugs so try at your own risk. If you do, they recommend yo...

Re: can't switch to side by side view

You need to have your mouse pointer on the little split screen icon in the top right of the editor (it'll probably look like a little rectangle with a thicker black line across the top before you toggle) then press and hold the 'option' key while you click to change editor split screen modes. Hope t...

Re: some fonts missing - a mystery!

If you check Font Book and TextEdit and those fonts aren't there (they aren't in mine) you can download them off the 'net from various sites for using on your Mac (they should be free). It's something I've done with favourite fonts to use in Scrivener when they haven't been available on the Mac list.

Hi I'm only a happy user of Scrivener but I believe that the App store doesn't allow discounts which is why that's not possible. However any Scrivener bought anywhere is allowed to be installed on as many computers/laptops with the same OS as you happen to own and use. The only thing you need to mak...

Re: Background colour setting

Hi,
Click the Scrivener name at the top right of your screen (by the apple). Click Preferences, then click Appearances along the top header, then Main Editor in the list to the left, finally click Colors from the three choices along the top line.
Hope that helps :-).

Re: character count at bottom of screen?

I just checked mine. If you click Scrivener -> Preferences -> Editing and then tick the live counts show characters box the characters are shown along with the word count at the bottom. Hope this helps :)

Thank you for updating colour labelling

A HUGE thank you for fixing the colour labelling in Scrivener v3.1. It means I've fully and happily migrated over to 3 as it was the one thing that made the new version less usable for me. I deeply appreciate the fact you took note of feedback and put indents and gaps back in the colour labelling. I...

Re: Label colours in Binder in Scrivener 3

First I want to say I bought a Mac just to have Scrivener in the Mac version, this is how much I love Scrivener, and I'm not alone in that I know :-). And second I will be buying Scrivener 3 because it is mostly pure awesomeness except for this one thing. I have to agree with everything CL says. I u...
