Re: 2.9.9.5 Crash (freeze) on launch while loading session targets (black box splash)

My problem is that Scrivener just totally freezes during that splash and never launches into the program itself. Did you have any recent changes to your system -- new/updated helper programs, anti-virus updates, new patches, etc. -- that coincide with this behavior? If you boot into safe mode, does...

Re: 2.9.9.5 Crash (freeze) on launch while loading session targets (black box splash)

Mm... I saw that one. But it pretty much just discusses the existence of that black box that notes the state of the counter there. My problem is that Scrivener just totally freezes during that splash and never launches into the program itself. Which is kind of a problem. I need to have Scrivener sta...

2.9.9.5 Crash (freeze) on launch while loading session targets (black box splash)

I've had a few freezes that intermittently appear while I try to load the RC5 version of the app. It goes through the start up processes and checks and ends up with a black box splash that says something about resetting session targets. And there it just ends up totally frozen, not doing absolutely ...

Re: For those that use the scrivener 3 beta

I'm sometimes extremely nostalgic for the pre-Internet days when you couldn't send out a patch when something didn't work. You had to make it right the first time. These days, even cars get patches for known bugs after their release. "Sorry, we made some errors, and it might explode. Bring it ...

Re: For those that use the scrivener 3 beta

How about fix all the bugs and release it soon? :D Would you like a unicorn, while we're at it? Katherine "If you believe in me", said the unicorn, "I'll believe in you..." :) I love unicorns! I'd love for you all to get me one. But I'll probably settle for the awesome new v.3 w...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

I still prefer recommending a clean install or a real system refresh. There are so many reasons underlying that. To begin with, even the best reg-cleaning apps do very strange things to a system (especially if there are many apps already installed, or if there has been a few uninstalls over time - o...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

||...it’s probably a bit late in the game to be retooling the beta program. :) Food for thought the next time we need to do an extended public beta though. It was just a wild idea I had. I totally realize things are getting a bit too close for any of that, but as you say, it might be worth an extra...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

Mm... Registry cleaners. Can be quite handsome little helpers, can't they? However, I do feel a slight aversion towards actually recommending anyone to use something as powerful as those critters, as in the wrong hands and without knowledge of how the OS and the app itself works, they can often do m...

Re: "Change Icon" Functionality Thoughts

Even the simplest folder support would be a godsent for me, obviously. Thank you for info and for giving me a bit of hope on that front. Will be awaiting it with some gusto, I imagine. :D  Yeah, I kind of know I probably use those icons a bit more and in different ways than most people do. I n...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

Regarding the request for a "none-ending" beta build. I understand perfectly why there is an expiration date tagged onto each build. And that is just simply fair, though I see Catty's problem here as well. Most, if not all, software will have expiry added to each beta, and most apps just s...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

Not sure about this thing with Windows and v1x of Scrivener refusing to start up. I too am running both v1x and the beta on several computers, from several generations and different manufacturers of CPU's, GPU's and so on. If it was a general Windows problem, I think I would have run into it by now....

"Change Icon" Functionality Thoughts

Okay, so I'm cross-posting this on suggestion from the general win feedback section and I'm hoping admins won't make a shark stew of me for doing so. :D  This based on Win Beta 27, build version 723513. So, I'm working on a long term project that has created quite a lot of notes beyo...

Re: Hoping on update of "change icon" functionality and UI

Yes, I guess. I just decided to post it on here as I've been thinking this might be a general functionality thing for... well pretty much the whole Scrivener eco system. And this was as close as I could get the note out as general feedback, I guess. I could cross-post the thing, as long as...

Colors while editing note titles in binder.

Win Beta 27. Hi again, Wondering if anyone knows how to change color of the written font of note titles in binder when editing. For some reason, I can't find it. Works great with a light background as seen in this image. But when using a darker color for the binder, both the background of the "...
