Wanted: Proofreader / Copyeditor with Scrivener expertise

I have a number of larger projects that I would really like expert eye of a professional to look at (for a fee, of course). I would very much prefer NOT to compile to Word at this stage in the projects. Does anyone have any recommendations for proofreaders and/or copyeditors who work proficiently in...

SOLVED Re: Scrivener -> MMD -> Pandoc -> ICML -> Indesign... line break issues

-t icml+hard_line_breaks -s <$inputfile> -o <$outputname>.icml Alas, this does not seem to do the trick. You could also use regex replacements in the compile system to replace single with double line breaks? This turned out to be exactly the trick. It has the added benefit of leaving the original t...

Scrivener -> MMD -> Pandoc -> ICML -> Indesign... line break issues

Hello, Scrivener. I debated putting this in the MMD forum, but this one seems more appropriate. I'm using the MMD + Pandoc compile method to get an ICML file for importing text written and compiled in Scrivener to InDesign for a book layout. I've run across the famous "hard line break" iss...

Re: Alignment of "Between Sections" Separators with Formatted "Notes" Section

Do you have the Ignore indents when centering custom separators option disabled, in the Separators compile format pane? Unless there is some other factor going on, that should be all you need to keep middles oriented to the margin width rather than the width adjusted by an indent offset. That was i...

Alignment of "Between Sections" Separators with Formatted "Notes" Section

Hello, L&L: In an effort to distinguish the Notes entries from the Synopsis entries when compiling a custom "Synopsis" format, I've set up the Notes to be indented 0.5" from the left margin. Unfortunately, this format setting seems to carry over to the "#" separator, thr...

Re: Changing Subtitles: "Synopsis" and "Notes"

The authorship of the Scrivener manual must have been a daunting project but it has been exceptionally well executed. Thank you! Thank you ! It’s always nice to hear it even gets opened, let alone proves itself of use. :) Of course! Credit where credit is due. So these subtitles are indeed hard-cod...

Changing Subtitles: "Synopsis" and "Notes"

Hello L&L. Perhaps now would be the time to render a compliment that is not often conveyed: The authorship of the Scrivener manual must have been a daunting project but it has been exceptionally well executed. Thank you! Something I have not been able to glean, perhaps because there is no way to...

I thought so. Thanks very much for the answer though. Now I know I'm not just missing something. :)

No Undo for Folder Moves

I'm not sure it's technically a "bug" rather than a feature request (sorry) but more than once (especially on my little MacBook Pro with the big trackpad) a bit of overpressure and a too-far finger swipe and I will find that I have accidentally moved a folder or a scene around in the Binde...

Re: Change Printed Headers in Outline Mode to "Regular" Rather than "Bold" Font?

When you say “print” are you referring to how text is printed in the outliner itself (what this preference pane is concerned with), or what happens on a sheet of paper when you press ⌘P ? If it’s the former—I’m not sure what’s wrong! It looks like all of your settings are right. If it’s the latter,...

Change Printed Headers in Outline Mode to "Regular" Rather than "Bold" Font?

Is it possible to print in outline mode without bolding the titles of scenes/folders? There is a "Use Bold Font for: Folder Titles / Document Group Titles" option in Preferences -> Appearance -> Outliner -> Fonts, but that doesn't seem to do the trick, and specifying a custom font for &quo...

Errors Compiling to Kindle (KF8/Mobi Ebook)

Hello, LL: I'm getting this error trying to compile to KF8/Mobi Ebook. If I switch to "Kindle Mobi Ebook" only (i.e. no KF8) it compiles fine. Details from kindlegen: ************************************************************* Amazon kindlegen(MAC OSX) V2.9 build 1028-0897292 A command l...

100% CPU

I don't know if this is helpful or not, because I cannot reproduce it reliably, but I often find Scrivener at 100%+ CPU during normal operation. When it happens: 1. Scrivener is in Fullscreen. 2. I have just compiled to .pdf with a custom format. 3. I have "open the document in preview after co...

Custom Project Format Not Overriding Display Font Size

I'm using 14 point font in my display using a custom style ("Base") but the "Formatting" tab in the "Section Text" layout is set to 12 point. "Override text and notes formatting" is checked in the "Section Text" layout UI. Compiling to .pdf results i...
