Re: The Great Big Scrivener Survey

Just filled it out, very excited by the implications of some of the questions!

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

Just to add to the information pool, I was also having the issue on both an iPad Pro 11, and an iPhone XS. I performed the fix that was suggested earlier (unlink Dropbox, link a new folder and progressively move projects into it) and it seems to have worked - although note that I have only moved one...

Re: Do you prefer Scrivener for iOS or Ulysses???

I picked up Ulysses a few months ago, and I have to say I'm really liking it. I'm currently using it for holding everything that's not a novel - random ideas split across genres, more fleshed out ideas for my next novels, a collection of writing guides, marketing notes and strategies, website and bl...

Re: Will iOS Scriv Work in iPad OS?

Since you're here Keith, I just want to say that I hope you're reading some of these posts in the manner they were intended - I'll reiterate that we're all here because we love Scrivener (at least I hope so) :) For me, it's all a bit of an interesting thought exercise - the current state of Scrivene...

Re: Will iOS Scriv Work in iPad OS?

I think maybe I shouldn't have listed specific pain points, and rather just said 'does it frustrate you that Scrivener on iOS doesn't have feature parity'? It wasn't my intention to derail the conversation with discussion around individual components (specifically syncing, where there are more than ...

Re: Will iOS Scriv Work in iPad OS?

Agree with you regarding hardware and form factor, I’m more referring to software. It sounds like you and me might work in a similar fashion in regards to device usage , so I have to ask does it frustrate you that Scrivener on iOS doesn’t have a cork board view, or the ability to view and edit snaps...

Re: Will iOS Scriv Work in iPad OS?

Well, maybe that’s why we see things differently? I don’t think the new Mac Pro suggests that Apples vision is "all about unification". Making iOS more capable and introducing iPad OS still doesn’t suggest that they want to turn all iDevices into some kind of Micro Macs in the future. All...

Re: Will iOS Scriv Work in iPad OS?

All we here in the forums are doing is armchair quarterbacking without access to a lot of the relevant data. We're like the guys up in the stadiums who've each had four beers before the first half is over, trying to yell at Lionel Messi and tell him what he's doing wrong. Agreed, except that I don'...

Re: Will iOS Scriv Work in iPad OS?

I'm a little surprised by the pushback on some of the comments made by PopcornFlix, to be honest. He's the only one looking at the problem through a business strategy lens, has made some great points, and has been quite a bit more patient with his replies than I probably would be. As for my opinion,...

Typewriter mode in normal edit window?

Hi, I can't seem to find a way to enable typewriter mode in the standard editor window (not compose mode). Currently, in the normal editor the current line of text is always at the bottom of the screen and scrolling further down doesn't really work - it limits you to the line you are on and you can'...

Re: Anything to share about Scrivener 3.0?

For what it's worth, you can add me to the list of people who jumped ship to Apple purely for Scrivener. It turns out I love the MacOS experience, but Apple has L&L to thank for the purchase of a MacBook Pro last month. I'm already thinking of getting an iMac for writing at home, and probably an...
