Re: All research is GONE

I'm not sure what you mean by: And my backing on other areas of the drive saved me, I do have a backup of the backup, but working across devices is not going to happen until you fix this little issue How are you working across devices? Dropbox? Something else? For example, with Dropbox it is **essen...

Re: All research is GONE

Do you have any backups you can use? TimeMachine? Super Duper? Do you have any archives you can use? (e.g. I title my projecst something like this MyProject-2017-12). If you have archived by month then go back to an earlier version? Have you checked the trash? Perhaps you unintentionally put there. ...

Re: plain text

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll have to soldier on without plain text, I suppose. Here's what I'm after: I'd like to copy/paste a scene out of Scrivener and into an Alphasmart Neo, for portable, distraction-free tweaking--then later copy/paste the revised scene back into Scrivener. It's the way ...

Re: plain text

I'm not sure what you're wanting .... I write virtually all my content in Scrivener using Markdown. It has no Markdown shortcuts, but that's not a problem for me. Easy to export files, or compile files, as TXT or markdown extensions. So using basic markdown for plain text works terrifically. Imports...

That sounds great re: including headings in a future version!

Re: Export as Markdown – limited

I believe I had the same experience.

I reverted back to just writing Markdown within Scrivener (easy enough), but it would be nice if headings were properly converted to markdown.

Re: Markdown and <$include> Tag

Hmm . . . I'm afraid I can't help you then. I never use include tags so I don't know how they behave exactly. But I'm interested in hearing the full answer! I'm sure a more knowledgeable other person will be able to help you soon.

Re: Markdown and <$include> Tag

I believe the idea is this: - if it's in the Draft folder (or re-named equivalent) then conduct compile settings (in your case: convert from Markdown). - if it's in the Research folder (or re-named equivalent) then do nothing during compiling. Always leave "as is" You could always create a...

Re: eSellerate upgrade process for v2 to v3 is broken

I doubt anything is "wrong" at this point. It takes awhile to change their whole website and the actually "selling page" may be last to be updated. As the folks at L&L have stated previously: version 3 will be released sometime today but it may be towards the end of the day/n...

Re: Select all pages/files in a folder: how?

Mark:

Thank you very much for the explanation. That's too bad, but at least now we know that it's a limitation within Scrivener (for the moment) and won't try to look around for a solution when none exists at this time.

Re: Select all pages/files in a folder: how?

I may not have described the situation in the best words. Inserted is a screenshot showing that I can do this in Mac, but as far as I can tell I can only select one file/page at a time in Windows (not all pages/files in a folder). True or not?

Select all pages/files in a folder: how?

I use Scrivener on the Mac, but I have a few students who are using Scrivener on Windows. One of the things I do all the time is to create a folder that represents a webpage. I then add several pages (via "new text") to the folder to chuck the writing for one webpage. (All writing uses Mar...

Re: How can I convert my book to MultiMarkdown (MMD)?

This is a late reply, and you may not be interested, but TextSoap can be a fantastic companion for doing bulk changes to text. It's very stable, and useful for many things. I have to do text cleanup on a fairly regular basis (some similar to your description, other times for very different needs) an...

Re: Scrivener-Medium Integration

Medium has contacted several developers including Byword, iA Writer, and Ulysses. All have announced that they'll soon have Medium integration. I'm assuming Medium has already reached out to the Scrivener folks. It would be fool-hardy/crazy for Scrivener not to implement some sort of Medium publishi...

Congratulations on finally getting a new computer! I hope it serves you very well. It is a tricky decision, but it seems you made a very good choice based on all your key considerations. Live long and write!
