Re: Would like some advice/opinions on a use of comments/footnotes

Perhaps if I just create a document for each topic in a folder, and then link each one in a separate document as a kind of index with the document linking, I could have the same effect without the performance issues. Might take more rearranging should I want to change the order, but it sounds like i...

Would like some advice/opinions on a use of comments/footnotes

Theres a big part of my writing that I have been struggling to organize for quite some time. Mostly background information that wouldn't be included in the finished product. Call it a personal quirk, or perhaps the blue light from the screen makes me manic, but I hate having to scroll through a lot ...

Re: Is Scrivo Pro For Scriveners a licensed companion to Scrivener?

Aeon works with your Scrivener project in the following manner: ⋅  There is an Aeon Timeline document, which is quite separate from your Scrivener project. You need not bother to put it in your sync folder on Dropbox. One Aeon Timeline document is synced to one Scrivener project. ⋅&n...

Re: Is Scrivo Pro For Scriveners a licensed companion to Scrivener?

Could you tell me a bit about how aeon syncs with scrivener. Where it keeps the data, and how that would impact my syncing with Dropbox to my ipad(since I don’t believe aeon has an ios app) I Googled for you: https://www.aeontimeline.com/support/scrivener-syncing/ Katherine Haven’t been able to fin...

Re: Is Scrivo Pro For Scriveners a licensed companion to Scrivener?

As far as I understand it, Scrivo Pro is an independent company who has found a way to hook into Scrivener files — it's got nothing to do with Scrivener apart from that. Keith, Scrivener's developer, said this in a post in December: ...an app called "Scrivo Pro" which has nothing to do wi...

Is Scrivo Pro For Scriveners a licensed companion to Scrivener?

I found this app in the App Store, Scrivo Pro For Scriveners, and its being billed as a companion to Scrivener. I’m wondering if you guys suggest it or don’t have anything to do with it?

Also is Aeon timeline a good compliment to scrivener?

Re: Question on exiting Scrivener to check a document...

And either way, there is no need to manually save whenever you Cmd-Tab to another program. On both platforms Scrivener will have likely already saved for you by the time are in another program. Well, on my Mac, I don’t have to “close” the program when looking something up, I can just minimize it. B...

Re: Question on page saving...

I know Scrivener auto saves every few seconds if one is not typing. As such there is no need to maunually file and save like on word. But that also poses a risk of accidentally deleting or editing because the project doesn’t allow the option not to save changes. Any way to make the pages “lock”, or...

Question on exiting Scrivener to check a document...

If I’m writing on Scrivener, then I want to go to my email and copy and paste something. Do I have to save the project every time, or can I just exit without fear of loosing data.

How does having to move the project file to Dropbox effect external backups?

I’m trying to figure out how to link my Mac and iPad together through Dropbox. Now, from what I understand it is necessary to move the project file from my computer document folder to the Dropbox folder. Wouldn’t this effect my external backups?

Re: Are offsite backup services safe?

There are two forms of security. "No one can steal my data" has different requirements from "my data won't go missing." To make sure no one can steal your data, keep it off the internet entirely. Use a physical wire to connect your iOS device to your desktop. Backup to an extern...
