Re: Struggling to read with Scrivener

If the problem is that the fonts are blurry, here's the fix that worked for me: ⋅ From your Windows desktop (NOT from within Scrivener) right-click on your Scrivener icon. ⋅ Choose "Properties" from the pop-up menu. ⋅ Choose the "Compatability" tab. ...

Re: Scrivener thinks it's installed in a different location

Thanks for the attempts to help. I got rid of the problem by dealing with the relevant registry entries. Now there's no problem. Evidently the uninstall program didn't get rid of everything. This might have been a problem with the installation itself; The last couple of betas threw a registry error ...

Scrivener thinks it's installed in a different location

I'm getting an error message on startup: Scrivener Error installed location.png The folder inside "My Documents" is the location I had installed previous Betas. I have now installed Beta 22 in the default location, which is where Scrivener knows that it is running, but it thinks it's still...

Re: Continued problem with bullets in 2.9.0.21

Well, I got rid of the bullet problem by hitting the "default" button in Options. So now it seems to be working as expected. It does seem a bit weird that with a fresh install in a new location, there was a problem that had somehow held over from previous installations. It seems that previ...

Re: Continued problem with bullets in 2.9.0.21

...have you tried just hitting an extra return, after the last item you want bulleted? Yes. I get the same result whether I hit an extra return, hit backspace, or choose "None" from the drop down list. Incidentally, this is something that works fine on my 1.9.9 release (there were other i...

Continued problem with bullets in 2.9.0.21

I am still having a problem with bullets in the most recent release candidate version. I am using Scrivener Beta 2.9.0.21 on Windows 10 Home Edition, 64 bit. Basically, once I start a bulleted list, I can't get out of it. Whether I try to backspace or use the drop-down list to choose "no bullet...

Yes, I just downloaded the release candidate and came up with the same problem. I will take your suggestion and start a new thread. Thanks.

Re: Thanks, bullets / lists and key bindings.

I only had the problem you describe with lists that existed from the previous beta. Unfortunately, that is not my experience. I created a new test project and typed into the first document, and got the same results I did last time. I'll post screenshots, one from before clicking away from the docum...

Re: Bulleted List formatting Error

I was excited when the bulleted list issue seemed to be resolved in the most recent beta. Size of bullets and bullets moving with tabbed text was working great. However, there is still an issue that makes the feature unusable for me: It does not want to let me stop using bullets, and wants to retroa...

Re: Thanks, bullets / lists and key bindings.

Re: bulleted lists: Aye, that doesn't work for me. I'm on Windows 10. I don't remember it working on any previous version of Windows Scrivener though. Must be a Mac VS Windows thing then. It worked with some wonkiness in 1.9.9 (sometimes a tab would move the bullet way left, past the margin, and the...

Re: Blurry and not crisp? Is this how it is for others?

I posted this solution that worked for me in another thread. Seems to have worked for several others as well. Steveshank may have been referring to it in his response: ⋅ From your Windows desktop (NOT from within Scrivener) right-click on your Scrivener icon. ⋅ Choose "Prope...

Re: Dissapointment in the Windows Team

I am one of those who has been critical of the delay for the Windows release, I would like to commend Lee Powell on his (her?) forthright message regarding the current status of the project. Namely, Lee acknowledges and validates Windows users' frustration with the project, lets us know what is happ...

That, I think, is the least reasonable criticism possible. Scrivener is probably one of the best values for software out there.

Re: Passing on Scrivener for now

If L&L is going to market substantially different products, I suggest that they be honest and change the name of the Windows version of Scrivener to something else. Otherwise, they are basically capitalizing on the name of an up-to-date program to sell a severely out-of-date one. Except that th...
