Re: Scrivener3: Compiling to word - section layouts as word format styles

I don't know if this would help you, but you can replace styles with Word's Find & Replace function. In the past, I've put codes in my scrivener file (e.g., "[H1]") and then use the codes to find and replace the paragraph style containing this code with a Heading 1 style. (And then fin...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

It is disheartening to continue to see Mac releases (3.1.4 on 10/10/19) and no Windows 3.0 release. You evidently are not aware of the fact that this was a small bug fix release to patch some areas that were broken by a recent macOS update. What Ioa said. There have also been some recent crit...

Re: WIndows 3 Release: My Thoughts

It is disheartening to continue to see Mac releases (3.1.4 on 10/10/19) and no Windows 3.0 release. Regardless of the number of developers working on it, or the progress they are making resolving bugs, the fact remains the release of the Scrivener Windows 3.0 is years behind the release of Mac 3.0 v...

Re: Scrivener 3 Windows Release

Do you want them to release incomplete software? What I'd like is to get a sense that the Windows version is getting the same level of attention that the Mac version has, instead of seeming like a second-class citizen (which has always seemed to be the case). I believe you that they're working hard...

Re: Scrivener 3 Windows Release

I'm with eggybread. I continue to see updates to the Mac version of Scrivener but barely a whisper of news about the stable Windows version 3.0 release. I still remember, way back when, that the Windows version was "coming in 2018". If actions speak louder than words - and they do - it's q...

Re: When Oh When?

Not true. The first post I linked to upthread contains an official response from L&L. For your convenience, here it is again: Fair enough. I didn't pick up on that as the official L&L response when I read through the thread. That still leaves us with no timeline - just an explanation of why...

Re: When Oh When?

So basically the only response to "when?" is speculation based on user/customer experience - no official information from L&L. I appreciate the observations that the Win3 team is working hard and making progress on the beta, albeit slowly - that, at least, is somewhat encouraging. I am...

When Oh When?

Ever since I learned of the Scrivener 3.0 release for Mac, I've been patiently waiting for the Windows 3.0 version ... "coming in 2018". I see that last bit - "coming in 2018" - is no longer anywhere to be found. What is the status of this release? I'm patient but 2018 is drawing...

Re: <$n:figure> not working

Thanks for the response, Linus -- I'd searched the manual, too, and found no mention of this features. It didn't occur to me that the functionality of the Windows version might be different from the Mac version. All of the examples of the use of this feature that I found online did use screenshots f...

<$n:figure> not working

I've read online about figure numbering and referencing but I can't get it to compile as expected. If I use a simple <$n> to number my figures, Scrivener correctly numbers these codes when compiling to Word. However, if I use <$n:figure> or <$n:figure:FigName> Scrivener does not replace these codes ...

Re: Chapter titles not showing up

okay - I figured it out. If the section is marked "As-Is", then the title won't appear in the output.

Re: Compiling to .doc

Is this a Word problem, not a Scrivener problem? If so, there might be a stray page-break or section-break and you're inserting the title right before it. Have you turned on paragraph marks to see what's there? (Alternatively, you might be inadvertently creating text, or the body text itself, may in...

Chapter titles not showing up

I'm a relatively new Scrivener user (1.9.7.0) and am still learning. I've been playing with the compile to Word (Windows) function and am finding that not a single section title (as shown in the binder hierarchy) shows up in my Word document. Each folder and individual section is marked "Includ...
