Well, that's a bit of a bleak outlook, I know. But to put it another way: do you expect Photoshop or Microsoft Word to go Open Source? I thought not. :) Scrivener is mine , and I'm not ashamed to say it. And I program for OS X. Now... Apple should really find a way to thank you -- a way or another....
Have you tried with the beta version of ChronoSync (wich is updated for Leopard) ? I haven't tested it myself, but it may solve your problem...

It will seems very foolish but when I am not looking at the screen, I often look at a picture of the person I love. It is for her that I write... even if she doesn't know that.
A notebook (Moleskine pocket, are my favorites) and a simple gel pen (Stabilo Stylist). It fits in (almost) any pocket : great for mobile writing :D BTW, the reward warning on the front page of the Moleskine does work ! I got back one notebook I lost a few days before, for a few bucks (and a coffee)...
