Re: [LH4234] Search and "F3" Results Message [Beta 32]

It's really inconvenient not having those searches. Is it possible to roll back to an earlier version until this is resolved? Which version should I roll back to?

Re: [JH] Search and "F3" Results Message [Beta 32]

I'm having trouble with global search too. All of my saved search collections (keywords) are returning empty, as is any new global search for a label, keyword, or status. Clicking "rebuild the search index doesn't help," and I'm not even sure it does anything since it only briefly opens a ...

Flaky column resizing in Beta 31

I was having trouble with this on the last beta, and it's still a problem in this one: sometimes when I try to resize columns in Outline view, the pointer jumps off the app window and the column gets resized as enormous and cannot be made smaller.

Cannot resize last outliner column, pointer jumps

This is a document I just imported from version 1.9. I'm running Windows 10 v1903. I can make the last outliner column bigger but not smaller, because the double-arrow pointer suddenly jumps off the editor and to the upper-right corner of the app window. Adding another last column and then deleting ...

Re: Expirations on Beta versions

@Bridger Ignore the Scrivener fanboys who feel the need to get nasty and pile on for a week after the original post anytime anyone makes the slightest criticism of Scrivener or the way L&L runs its business. I think you've probably gotten the point that you downloaded the wrong version if you me...

Re: Why the Android Version of Scrivener is Arguably the Most Important Version (and Why it's Number 1 on My Wish List)

The issue is whether enough people would be willing to pay for Scrivener on Android. I would also be willing to bet that many Scrivener users considering a buying new tablet might grit their teeth and pony up for an iPad even though they would rather use Android. I almost did. Note the word "al...

Re: Android app

Anything you write in an RTF editor (like WordPad on Windows) opens more-or-less fine in Scrivener (I've had some issues with highlights).

Odd resolution bug in Scapple for Windows

This issue seems to be related to this old thread, which did not receive a dev response: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=36668&p=235440 I finally fired up Scapple (v1.0, Windows 10) on my nice new 4K laptop. But when I extend my laptop to my lower-res monitors, I...

Re: What OS would you choose if you could trade right now?

If you've been happily using Adobe creative software on Windows, then the main argument for getting a Mac--"superior color accuracy"--is baloney. You'll have more choices and get more bang for your buck with a Windows machine. Unless there's some very specific reason you need to be in the ...

Re: Anyone else using the BETA for their work?

The problem is that Scrivener 3 isn't backwards-compatible, so if the beta stops working for some reason, you won't be able to continue and you might lose your work altogether. I'm not that brave.

Re: LaTeX article section types

Thanks for the clarification--I didn't mean to spread ignorance.
I've only messed with the Windows beta a little bit because I'm just finishing something up and didn't want to take the plunge. A "type" implementation is certainly much better than "Compile As Is."

Re: LaTeX article section types

Another comment: If you don't want a Scrivener doc to be included in the part-chapter-section etc. hierarchy as in the Binder, mark it "Compile As Is." I do this with each doc that is in a theorem environment (using escaped LaTeX) and have my preamble number each theoremstyle as a subsubse...

Re: Inline LaTeX with MMD 6

\delta (or \alpha, etc.) isn't a LaTeX command unless you're in math mode. This is why you need to either use the textgreek package or unicode+XeLaTeX. It's possible that nontroppo's LaTeX installation is automatically putting the missing math mode delimiters around \alpha, but MMD understands that ...

Re: Inline LaTeX with MMD 6

What nontroppo said, and also ⋅ Using math environment for Greek will give you the wrong font unless your Greek is math. A better solution is to either use textgreek or use fontspec and compile with XeLaTeX. See https://texblog.org/2012/03/15/greek-letters-in-text-without-changing-to-math-...

Re: pasting graphics into editor

If you're using MMD, you can use the MMD syntax to insert the high-quality image and paste in a screenshot placeholder. If you make this placeholder image an inline comment, it won't show up when you compile.
