Re: Persistent Problem with Drag and Drop

Are you sure that the red line which shows where the text note will land is in the right place before you 'drop'?

Re: Setting out story arcs and character arcs in Scrivener

You'll probably find Scapple much easier to use than traditional mind mapping software. I find it essential for brainstorming.

Re: scapple development

I hope they carry on supporting it but don't develop it too far. I like it as it is: simple, quick to use, and would hate to see it have so many features that it loses the very reason many users like Scapple - its simplicity.

Re: Scapple 6 questions

I think you're expecting Scapple to do more than it was designed for. OneNote can do all the things you're asking for, as can Evernote. And I think there's more expensive mindmapping software (like the one Tony Buzan sells) which would serve. As to the mouse problems, if I were you I'd buy a better ...

Re: The Novel Factory for plotting a novel outline

The Novel Factory is one of my favourite writing programs. I purchased it a few months ago even before the short trial had run out. Reading through this thread, I gather that it's been further developed since June 2016; there was a nice update shortly after I began using it which added further templ...

Re: Scrivener disappeared from my laptop

As to xml, I haven't a clue, but would be doubtful Scrivener would handle it. Others might come along who do know, but a google might help. As to Scrivener, do you still have the installer and registration details? If so, use those to reinstall the software. If not, contact the developers/help, they...

Re: How to insert individual pages in a document?

Have you got the Scrivenings 'button' activated? You may be seeing one long document because you're in this mode. In the toolbar at the top there should be three buttons grouped together, the one on the left looks a bit like an untidy pile of papers. If this is orange, you're in Scrivenings mode. Cl...

Seems to me like you're undermanned; or should that be 'underpersoned? Maybe you need dedicated forum moderators?

Re: Typewriter emulator

If only there was a Windows version of the Noisy Typer software. It looks great on the video. I've tried some of the free Windows apps such as Clickey which irritated me because even when I did a mouse click it sounded like a typewriter key and there was no differentiation between space bar etc soun...

Re: Feature Request: Add Comment Field

I found the video and unfortunately it was not referring to Scapple but to some mind mapping software of a more traditional type. However, if you need to dig deeper into your project (characters, scenes etc) I'd suggest trying Papel http://papel.teiru.net/papel/ . This is abondonware, but still func...

Re: Feature Request: Add Comment Field

If you write the note in notepad, or some other simple text editor, just copy and paste that into Scapple. I've seen this done in videos, but have never actually tried it as I've only had the trial for a few days. I just attempted to do this, by sliding a text file into a Scapple map, but the text w...

Is Scapple Still Being Developed?

I read somewhere on the internet that this software is no longer being developed and has been abandoned. Is this true? I downloaded the trial a few days ago and have been impressed by how it functions as a brainstorming tool. It would be a great shame if it was no longer developed, I'm sure there ar...

Re: Typewriter Sounds in Full Screen/Composition Mode

Long time, busy writing. As for the option of using a typewriter, been there when I was a student in the late 70s and hated having to bash the keyboards on the small manual I had. I loved the electric typewriter which replaced it, hated the electronic typewriter which replaced that, and love old lap...

Re: Starting a Story

Well shiver me timbers, strikes me there's a template in that there story starting post. Any hearties got the guts to create one? I sure ain't good enough with ye olde Scrivener to master the task. Maybe another matey could do it?
