Re: Find all articles which link to article x?

Hey Rob, thanks for this! Unfortunately, the links are not necessarily identical in content to the title or each other. So that particular strategy won't work in this case. :(

Find all articles which link to article x?

Is there a way for Scrivener to find all the articles which internally link to a specific article? I notice that the "Document Bookmarks" can help with this a little, but it seems to miss links. Is there a way to search comprehensively? Thanks!

Controlling zoom for footnotes/comments when tooltips

Hi, I know how to control the zoom for footnotes/comments that are in the inspector (by right-clicking). But I've set my footnotes/comments to show up as clickable tooltips in the main editor (I forgot how I did this) and I seem unable to control the zoom on them. Is there a way to do this? (They ar...

Feature request: styles in the toolbar?

Hi, I just thought I'd throw this idea out for consideration. For people using styles frequently, it might be beneficial to have the ability to drop-drag styes (or a small style pane) into the toolbar at the top, like in Microsoft Word. It's a particularly economical way to have access to them. Keep...

Re: OOPS! Deleted wrong style. Ruined all. Can i go back?

YOU ARE A HERO! Man, I thought this was hopeless and almost didn't ask for help. Thank you so much!! [NOTE: For anyone trying this in the future, let me add a step. Before doing anything, you obviously have to select ALL the nodes from your navigator (so they all show together as one document in the...

I had a similar thought. Better for it to happen now than later. Thanks :)

Restoring old .scriv file via DropBox "version history" not working?

Hi, I accidentally deleted the wrong style, which wreaked havoc throughout my scriv file. However, I had the file connected to DropBox, what has a version history feature. Unfortunately, when I ask it to restore the scriv file, the style change still did not revert back, nor did anything else. Any i...

Good suggestion. Yeah, I did check.. those are the backups I meant to refer to when I said I had no recent backup. : (

Thanks though!

OOPS! Deleted wrong style. Ruined all. Can i go back?

Hey, so I just accidentally deleted the wrong style (the wrong one was selected) and it radically transformed how my scriv file looks throughout. I don't have any very recent backups, I know this means the change is probably permanent... but, it will take hours to fix, so I thought it was worth aski...

Can I retain text-indents when applying styles?

Hi, this may be a dumb question but... I can't figure out how to preserve my indents when applying a style to them. Currently, the indent information is just deleted and the text is taken all the way to the left. Can this be avoided?

Thanks!

Find duplicate texts?

Hi, have a gigantic Scrivener file in which I save information, including useful quotes. However, I notice that often enough one quote I have will be repeated in another location. Is there a search feature which allows me to find texts of a certain complexity that are identical (so I can merge them)...

Re: Lower minimum-width for main editor?

Hey Bookter and Kewms, I'm using Scrivener 3. Essentially, I need to have the binder opened relatively wide. Sometimes I want to drag-shink Scrivener window (e.g. to simultaneously see more of my browser), and I'd much prefer this to shrink the editor... which can if I drag it from the right to the ...

Re: Lower minimum-width for main editor?

AmberV, thanks so much for the detailed and helpful response! There are a few downsides, but overall I may jump to this method often. Huge thanks. :)

Lower minimum-width for main editor?

Hi, I often would like to resize scrivener's main editing window (e.g. shrinking it by drag-increasing the binder width). However, Scrivener seems to have a Min-Width property for the editor window that makes things inconvenient to me for various reasons. Is there a way to change this min-width so t...

Spellcheck, smart quotes, & em-dash autocorrections won't work

Thanks in advance for any help! In the main editor, some of the autocorrections are not working. Suddenly, (1) no words are being underlined with red, (2) smart quotes no longer work, (3) and em-dash (from --) corrections are no longer being made. I have tried unchecking all the boxes in Preferences...
