Re: Anyone using Scrivener 3 for a 'live' project?

I have also been using the beta version exclusively for all my work- in my case since July 25 2018. I have been writing my daily website in it, as well as writing academic papers and the outline for a book. I have only ever had one problem, and I cannot honestly remember what it was. It was in Septe...

Re: No desktop & no laptop

Yes there is Katherine. The first bullet point says ”Edit on your Mac or Windows machine, and wait for the changes to be synced by the Dropbox desktop client. ”. The point here is not that these instructions won’t work for Fizz, rather they contain more information than s/he needs. If you only have ...

Doesn’t Win Scriv 1.9 work anymore? Did it stop working all those years ago? That’s news to me.

Whoosh!

RC8: duplicating multiple items doesn't work anymore

I used to be able to shift select multiple items in the binder, right click, choose "Duplicate", and have them all duplicated. If they were numbered (Note 1, Note 2, etc) the duplicates would renumber themselves intelligently. In RC8 if I shift select multiple files in the binder, right cl...

Re: Reduced Cross-Platform Support

I have kept out of these threads most of the time because they seem to generate far more heat than light, and in any case do nothing to hasten the release of Scrivener 3. I do want to point out though that the release of a piece of software is a largely artificial milestone. There are beta versions,...

@SilverDragon I downloaded and fooled around with Victor Mono but I am still married to Source Code Pro!

Re: What font do you use?

I like a monospaced font and have used one since I first started using Scrivener. A monospaced font looks like old-fashioned typewriting and reminds me that I am writing and editing the text and should not be concerning myself with layout. I found this very useful to keep in mind when I first got to...

Re: [B40] Problems with Scrivener for iOS

I have now tested again. I wrote a piece on my laptop in Scrivener beta 41, using my new default of 12pt Source Code Pro. I left it to sync to Dropbox and then synced my iPad with Dropbox. The new piece of writing opened in Scrivener iOS in 12pt Source Code Pro. So, for me at least, using this font,...

Re: [B40] Problems with Scrivener for iOS

Apologies. I was typing on the bus and made 2 mistakes. I have an iPad AIR 2. Yes I am using iOS 13. The font I have installed, on Silverdragon’s recommendation is SOURCE CODE PRO. (Source Sans Pro is a related font I also use on my laptop. "Sans Code Pro" is a figment of my addled imagina...

Re: [B40] Problems with Scrivener for iOS

Hi, I don't know if this will help at all, but I recently wanted to install a font on my iPad, and I found this link: https://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-install-fonts-on-iphone-ipad/ This offers a different way of installation, which I had not come across before, but it worked for me. I now have Sans...

Re: For those that use the scrivener 3 beta

On my iPad and iPhone I use Notebooks 10, pointed to the same Dropbox directory. That allows me to access the notes anywhere, and also lets me create tasks for Todoist for when I find something actionable. This also lets me have Notebooks 10 next to Scrivener on the iPad, which would be perfect if ...

Re: Getting the Most out of Scrivener for Chromebooks

In theory, CrossOver will allow you to run your Windows version of Scrivener on Chromebook. However, it's currently badly supported by the developer, and there are no reports of users accessing Scrivener on Chromebook this way. It's theoretically possible though. Errm, I think the OP Harrington jus...

Re: Lost work

The image you are showing says that it is "saving autorecovery". So whatever you are doing you are not just finding an rtf file and opening it in Word or Wordpad. I will try to be clearer. When Scrivener autosaves it saves updates to the actual project folder. I cannot remember where it sa...

Re: Lost work

In Scrivener, there is a big difference between saving and backing up. While Scrivener's default setting does only back up on closing the program, it does (or should) autosave every time you stop writing for a little while. So you should have two sets of files. You should find the saved project wher...
