Re: Question: Will Scrivener beta uninstall affect my scrivener 1.x installation?

I think this only works if you upgrade before the previous Beta expires? When I open Beta 17, I just get a popup saying it's expired, then it exits--no chance for an upgrade. Am I alone in this? If you let the 17 deadline pass and really need to get the preferences saved, you can download 18 and in...

Just FYI, the same behavior exists in beta 17 (haven't yet updated) and has probably existed in the earlier betas.

Linguistic Focus?

I think that is what it is called on the Mac. It used to be a part of the beta but is no longer there as an option under Edit-->Writing Tools. Is this still planned for "feature matching" or has it dropped off for a future suggestion?

Re: How do I create a new scene from the corkboard?

I can't find a button anywhere to do this and it's apparently not New Text Yes, that is the 1.9.9 version. However, it works the same in beta 17. You have two options using a mouse for creating a new document from the cork board. One, while in corkboard view, press the green + button and you get a ...

How can I enable this in Beta 17?

Thanks

Look again

The download link needs to be fixed. Pulls down Beta 16 and not Beta 17 yet.

FWIW, the built-in updater pulls down Beta 17 and updates as expected.

And it is fixed!

Re: [BUG] -- (minor one) Single tick forces spelling error false positive

I decided to use double quotes for actual quoted text and signle quotes for stereotypical expressions and euphemisms. If I enclose a word or short phrase in single quotes, Scrivener will mark the last word adjacent to the closing quote as a spelling error (with the ziggy red underscore). Oddly enou...

Plus I haven't figured out how to have my toolbar customizations transfer as we move from one beta to the next, so each month or so, I have to find and add it to the toolbar and have yet to find it quickly. If you upgrade beta versions via the built-in updater, you keep the toolbar customizations. ...

Re: Spelling Functionality Working GREAT

Thanks for all the refinements on the spelling-related functions, guys. All the glitchiness that was dogging me is gone, and I can now use "Learn Spelling" for words ending in " 's " without issue. I agree in part. but the spell checker still flags times (11:52:28 for instance) ...

However, I have not been able to find the "ignore.* test" file that is mentions, nor any explanation or examples of how to use this command. Is there anyone on these forums who knows more about his and could help? You can try looking at the source code here: https://sourceforge.net/projec...
