See top of document when switching to another document

Whenever I select a different document in my project, the cursor usually seems to go to the middle of the document file. I would like the cursor to return to where I last left it in that particular document, or else I would like the cursor to go to the beginning of the document. Is there any way to ...

Re: Cut and paste a document...

I am going to explain JoRo's "Move To" suggestion, because it is particularly apt. But thanks for several suggestions that improved over what I was doing. In the binder, right click on an item and select Move To. A menu of choices will appear. For the most general choice: slide the mouse t...

Cut and paste a document...

Sometimes I decide that I want to move a scene elsewhere in my novel. A lot of scrolling may be involved. It seems to me that the easy way to do what I want is to "cut" a document (that is, a short scene) and "paste" it elsewhere, but I cannot figure out how to do this. Is there ...

After a find: what folder is this section in?

After I do a project find, the left column gives me a list of every section with a search hit. Now consider the case where I find what I am looking for. I click on the relevant section. Now, I want to know which folder this section is in. (My novel has many folders.) It must be easy to do this, but ...

Re: calendar in scrivener

rdale, That is the perfect solution to my problem. The outline view with my added field will give me exactly the overview I want. Thanks!!!!! (I'm now checking out how to do that.) if I may summarize: I requested adding a column to the binder display. Adding a column to the outline display (which i ...

Re: calendar in scrivener

I have a relatively simple need for tracking dates in Scrivener. I would LOVE to be able to add a column to the binder view, in which I could edit anything I wanted. I would, in this case, type dates into these fields, so that I could see at a glance how time was passing in the scenes of my novel. I...

Re: scriv 3 change one compile setting (Mac)

Thanks for your help, I found the "funnel" icon after clicking "compile" on the next screen, beside the word "compile".

This lovely icon reinforces my feeling that there is hardly any such thing as an "icon whose meaning is obvious."

scriv 3 change one compile setting (Mac)

Currently, I compile all the scenes and chapter headers (in fact, everything) that are NOT checked. I want to make a change, to compile everything I HAVE checked. How do I do this? (I do not care whether this is a global change or a project change). I've gone batty trying to find an answer by browsi...

Indent the first line of each titled section

I need the fist line of each titled section to be indented. (I am using an edited form of the Manuscript Times project format when I compile.) How do I prevent those first lines from being un-indented?

Thanks for your help!

Re: MulitMarkdown issue

I want to thank everyone for this dialog, which helped me to feel pretty good about removing all the asterisks from the book I am working on, using instead actual italics and bolding. It took me about 70 minutes (I've had much worse disastrous wastes of time as a software developer), and now I can i...

Re: MulitMarkdown issue

Before I get angry, I will politely request that a feature be added to scriv 3 that enables its use of markdowns to be the same as it was in scriv 2. Please. This is an amazing difference between scriv 2 and scriv 3! Apparently, I'm expected to go through all of the sections of all of my projects, d...

MulitMarkdown issue

My attempt to use markdowns in scriv 3 produced a total mess in my complied output. I am using scrivener 3.01 on my Mac. In Scriv 2, I used asterisks to get italicized text, and everything looked fine. After I updated to Scriv 3, my compile worked correctly except that my use of asterisks for italic...
