Re: How to control the width of the "Wrap" page layout view?

By default, the Compile command will use the same page size as the editor, defined by the Page Setup command. Then why does Page view give the option to choose from Page setup settings or Compile settings if Compile Settings are also based on Page setup settings? Hmmm do I really want to know the a...

Re: How to control the width of the "Wrap" page layout view?

Thank you Katherine and Jo. Jo confirmed what I had posted in my previous text "Anyway I think I found out how to control the width and that is by going to file>page setup." Too bad it can't be done the same way as with the main editor by just specifying a width. I have already setup a cus...

Re: How to control the width of the "Wrap" page layout view?

The attached image perhaps gives a better idea of what I mean. I want to be able to control width of the white part between the blue.

Re: How to control the width of the "Wrap" page layout view?

Thank you for your response but that was not quite what I meant. I know how to zoom in and increase the size of the text for easier reading. What I wanted to know was how to control the width of the page. If the page is too wide then it becomes tiresome to read so many words on a line. Anyway I thin...

How to control the width of the "Wrap" page layout view?

I switched to version 3 and am still getting used to it. How to adjust the width of the editing area when you use "Wrap" page layout view? See attached image. Currently the default is too wide.

Changing order of styles

Hello, I just switched to version 3 and also getting used to a new Mac. I want to know if it is possible to change the order in which styles are listed in the style drop down menu? Currently it is in alphabetical order. Is it possible to change the way it displays? I am used to dealing with style sh...

Re: Making it easier to identify the location of comments and footnotes in the inspector

This is better in Scrivener 3, the "selected" comment/footnote border is now coloured and more salient, but there is no "animated" flash which would help even more. I suspect there is some technical limitation why there is no animation in the inspector whereas there is in the ed...

Making it easier to identify the location of comments and footnotes in the inspector

If I am in the "inspector" and click on a footnote or comment the corresponding item is briefly highlighted in the document by a change of color and is thus easily found. But if I click on a footnote or comment in the document the inspector opens but the corresponding item is not briefly h...

I did right click and there is no option to zoom in. That only seems to be there for comments and footnotes. See screen shot.

Re: Spellcheck, smart quotes, & em-dash autocorrections won't work

I've found this a persistent but unpredictable bug that began with Sierra. The only solution I've found is to close Scrivener, and when it's finished writing the backup file, to restart the system. It's 100% effective, at least for me. I had similar problem but with a twist. When I opened up a new ...

Re: Zotero integration please!!!

Re: Zotero integration please!!!

For Bookends, you can use an existing directory to link to your existing PDFs, but it probably will not handle sub-folders. But it does usually work with PDF files directly and not aliases (I think anyway, I haven't tested it). 20,000+ PDFs is a colossal amount  I found that BookEnds works w...

Re: Zotero integration please!!!

If you want to be even more productive, you may find my recently released Bookends Tools for Alfred useful: https://github.com/iandol/bookends-tools For Scrivener, they package methods to search texts selection in Scrivener directly in Bookends, a tool to create OPML files from selected references ...

Re: Zotero integration please!!!

:D I would prefer to be writing than tracking down software bugs. Honestly: don't use Zotero. You get what you pay for, and Zotero is free/open source[1]. I do use Zotero to maintain a shared reference list with one collaborator, but it is painful to use compared to Bookends. Bookends was rel...

Re: ASenior Discount

When do you become so "senior" that you need a discount? I have a colleague who turns 80 this year and he is still actively doing field research in tropical rain forests. But I have other colleagues who essentially stopped being productive before they reached 60. The official age of compu...
