Re: New to the forum and Scrivener

So, Carl. No track changes!! Yes, it is perhaps quieter here than the Dominican Republic!! You might be aware of OUR British one, Writers Online - the offshoot of Writing Magazine. (Probably wouldn't be etiquette to post a link). Quite a few regulars on there, though like many forums, it has its sha...

Re: New to the forum and Scrivener

Hi Carl. Not many on here to communicate with.

I, too, am a recent 'convertee' (bit of poetic license there), still fumbling with some of the menus etc.

Regards

Re: Unbound Manuscript

Sorry guys, mislead you. I should have written re-indented, which still couldn't be done globally after WiN formatted indents as spaces.

Thanks for your assistance.

Re: Unbound Manuscript

This has been a most informative thread for one still adapting to the trial version. I have been a devotee of Write it Now, a clearly 'budget' version (I elected against 'inferior') of Scrivener. Some of my main concerns have been answered within this thread, and that is the 'exporting' from Scriven...

Re: Novel Outlining Template

Sounds ace, but wouldn't download for me, in any version.

So Whale, did you actually download it from WBM or just look at it?

Cheers

Ah, I am merely a subordinate to your intelligence!!

We can hope that Louise responds with her findings and sets up a quick blog. She'll have at least two devoted readers here!

Gee Vic, that wasn't very helpful.

Hi Louise. I can go only one step further: look at Wordpress.

Re: Hello

But I'm back again after plundering another few hours trying to work my way through Scrivener's multiple menus and seemingly irksome manner of trying to set up a project. But I won't complain on here, lest I am banned and sent on my way. It shouldn't be so different from Write it Now, but like anyth...

Re: Hello

Yes, Yossi is right, Vic-k: you do have WAY too much time on your hands! Just imagine if all those energies were devoted to a worthwhile purpose, perhaps writing aids for Stephen Hawkins or Isaac Asimov!! (if their names are spelt wrong, you can correct me because I don't have that sort of time avai...

Re: Buying Scrivener but not on CD

I'm just thinking of a future situation where perhaps Scrivener goes out of business (let's hope it never happens, but, you know) . . . Very interesting scenario if we apply that to Microsoft. If Microsoft ever went out of business, albeit highly unlikely, what would happen to all the subscribers o...

Re: The rise of e-reading

I love both forms, and each has their purpose.

But I cannot imagine clearing out all my 'proper' books to leave my Kindle Paperwhite sitting on the centre shelf of a floor-to-ceiling bookcase!

Re: How many fiction writers do we have here?

The first para of my second crime novel: Whisper of Death . Meredith Bennington reaches for the shrieking mobile. Knocks it to the floor. Pads her fingers across the bedside rug. Probes for the recently updated iPhone. I write fiction, but am also working on a memoir / auto bio (haven't fully decide...

Re: The Meaning of Writing

Belated response to this thread, but I can be excused because I'm a newbie!! There has always been the question of when does one become a 'writer'. It seems that some some attach a Gold Medal to the title as would an athlete claim to be a world champion. I don't believe one has to be published to ca...

Re: Hello

Thanks all, and a special thanks to vic-k (not for the book, but cos I like a man with a beard.

So, bottom deck. It's certainly easier writing on here than trying to fathom all the drop-downs and binders and . . .

That's my reason for delayed thanks!!
