Re: Great Product but ...Dictionary and Synonyms

Yeah the dictionary doesn't have "laparoscope" which really is a mainstream word (although I never can remember how to spell it lol).

Re: Sometimes opens up old file

Thanks for the info. I'll stop using cloud sync backup on my live projects and do manual backups by copying the projects into a sync folder from now on.

Sometimes opens up old file

Each time I start a writing session, and after I have completed a significant segment, I do a "Save As" a new document, using the same file name with the date and version variable at the end. For instance, "Doc Title 190724a" would be saved as "Doc Title 190724b" if I w...

Re: Page Numbering Problem

Is this still the case? No support for starting page numbers later in the document? How do I do this with epub and mobi files? First compile to a word doc and then to epub and mobi? What do I use for that? Calibre? This should be a priority addition to scrivener if it's not already in there. Thanks.

Re: Compiling fonts into epub

Since I first posted this I have heard that nook is awful with fonts and I should use a jpg for occasional display of alternate fonts, and the kindle has a font list in their help pages somewhere, so I might be able to work with fonts in mobi files. Does this sound right to y'all? Thanks.

Re: Just Scrivener on a very low-powered Windows laptop

I use it on a 10-year-old really slow HP Mini netbook with 2 somethings of RAM. It works fine. Some of the view changes take 30 seconds to display so you have to wait on that, but I am spending most of my time chapter by chapter, not viewing the entire project, which takes more time to render.

Compiling fonts into epub

Howdy, I'm writing a project in English which needs special characters (not necessarily entire font sets) for Arabic, Hebrew, Vietnamese, and Old English. I can see the characters on my Windows computer in Scrivener, but when I compile to epub, they don't make it into the file, at least on my cheap ...
