Re: Alternating Row Colors in Outline Editor Do not Work

That's the solution. Think you. It looks like you can't have it both ways (show labels and have alternating color rows).

Re: Scapple (and Scrivenar) suggestions

What I would love to see is a grid background where I can layout the month when different branches of the project need to be completed. You can have any image as your background, so you could make one yourself. The only limitation to that is that the Scapple board has no limits. It will keep expand...

Alternating Row Colors in Outline Editor Do not Work

One of my editors is in outline mode, and I wanted to make the rows alternating colors. I tried this, but it is not working: Scrivener > Preferences > Appearance > Outliner > Outliner uses alternating row colors I am on a mac (10.15.4) and using Scrivener 3.15. I also tried restarting the Scrivener ...

Re: Getting images into Scapple

Same problem here. I tried dragging and dropping the same file in different types: .jpg, .jpeg,, .pdf. I only see the url in Scapple. I also tried copying the pdf file by selecting the icon and using the keyboard shortcuts (Control - C) and then pasting it in Scapple (Control - V). In this case, the...

Re: Scapple (and Scrivenar) suggestions

I just downloaded the trial version of Scapple, and very likely will purchase it. I plan on using Scapple as a backward flowchart for different projects. What I would love to see is a grid background where I can layout the month when different branches of the project need to be completed. I have tri...

Re: Saving a View (with Layouts?)

I do want to keep the content in the editors that I last used. Is that possible in any way? I tried working on my second project and then go back to the layout I saved earlier for the first project, but, as you note, layouts did not keep the content, only the editors (horizontal vs vertical and a co...

Saving a View (with Layouts?)

I use one file to save all my projects. Currently I am working on one of them, and I like how I've set up the editors. If I close Scrivener, I know that it will open to exactly the set up I currently have. Is there a way for me to save this 'view'? I want to save it because I want to work on another...

Re: Filing a Linked Document

The + button in QR is the option for me! I got bogged down before thinking that I need to determine the folder in which is should reside, but now because of the icons, I can drag the new document whenever I see fit.

Fantastic! Thank you again!

Re: "Problem saving the project"

That's right--the google storage is unrelated. Their message alerted me to delete all the files I have on my computer.

Thank you for your fast response!

Re: "Problem saving the project"

I think you are right about disk space, but let me confirm: is available storage the same as disk space? After the failed attempts with starting Scrivener, I restarted my computer, and I saw that Google drive sent me a massage of a full disk. I cleaned up my downloads folder which was packed and emp...

Re: Filing a Linked Document

Amber, Thank you for the super helpful tips! It did not occur to me that I could draft the QR icon to one of the main editors. Such simple tips help tremendously. (In the past I was dragging the wrong icon--the icon for the project, not for the text, and now a whole new world has opened up :) One la...

"Problem saving the project"

Three times today Scrivener sends me this message: "There was a problem saving the project 'Name of project.scriv." "Not all recent edits could be saved. Files that could be recovered have been saved to /Users/name/Documents/Name of project.scriv Recovered-1. The project will now clos...

Re: Filing a Linked Document

Amber, thank you once more. This is such a great solution--it is so counter-intuitive for me but works great! I tend to think of the copy-holder documents as the children, but it makes so much more sense to use it for the main document. I tend to lose where I am in my project as I keep developing my...

Re: Filing a Linked Document

Thank you, Amber, for the detailed response. I have been experimenting with some of these suggestions, and I like the results. Would you mind explaining how placing links in a copyholder document helps you to create child documents? I was not able to understand this point quite well, and it might be...
