Re: Missing "Body" paragraph format preset

Many thanks for the quick response. Indeed, I understand the schema that "Body" or "Normal Text" is rather the implicit, undeclared preference in the Scrivener-verse. What I'm attempting to answer for my friend are the unfortunate instances, post-import, where her paragraphs are ...

Missing "Body" paragraph format preset

I'm helping a friend import her book into Scrivener iOS, now that she has an avalanche of notes from her publishing house. (Amazingly this coincides with her sudden, fervent wish to learn Scrivener.) Having imported from MSWord, when we examine the paragraph format presets across all her scrivenings...

Re: Page View Background mutates over time

Note bene: I'm happy to report that the app reinstall and an preferences delete has apparently solved the problem.

You may all go about your business with this bit of wisdom tucked in your cap.

Re: Page View Background mutates over time

Hmmm, great minds delete alike. It was going to be my own attack on the problem. As I use Hazel for housekeeping, trashing the Scrivener 3.0 install also carried with it all the underlying preference files. Shiny, fresh install now up and running. Will monitor behavior over the next few days... Many...

Re: Page View Background mutates over time

So, the Pilgrim's Progress... thus far: The mutation happened again, going from the default pale grey to pure black. Interestingly, the preference choice/tile became unresponsive. That's to say, no color choices or clicks would get it to change from black. Tile changes color, not so the background. ...

Page View Background mutates over time

Okay, my head-scratching oddity:

Here's my page immediately after launch—

After launch.png
After launch.png (381.46 KiB) Viewed 1454 times

Here it is a day later—

After an interval.png
After an interval.png (357.52 KiB) Viewed 1454 times

Happens consistently when Scrivener is left open for a few hours...

Note: I have not changed anything in preferences. So why the mutation?

Re: Making Scrivener look more like Ulysses

Yeah? Different strokes! That’s actually one of the few things that drives me nuts about their window—that and how elements vanish if you resize it past a certain point. I’d rather manage what stuff is visible and don’t really see why the software should be making that choice based on something as ...

Re: Anything to share about Scrivener 3.0?

I'm afraid. I'm afraid, Dave.

Dave, my mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. Just like the other dazed adherents ceaselessly prowling this thread and counting the days.

Re: Anything to share about Scrivener 3.0?

I just posted another blog post to keep people going in the meantime. :) Hopefully not too much longer now. That's it. I'm officially invoking the Geneva Conventions. So many ravishing teasers without shipping must surely violate some tenet of humane treatment for we poor prisoners of our own hyper...

Re: Anything to share about Scrivener 3.0?

So we wait like children for Christmas. I'll keep putting out fresh milk and cookies for Keith each night and contain my disappointment each morning when my stocking is still empty. Never in my life have I seen so many adults holding their breath 'til blue, and rubbing their fingers together "...

Re: Why do my do my webpage links keep evaporating?

To preface, there isn't much that Scrivener is doing here that are not core features of the OS. Here is what I would do: ⋅  Test 1 (macOS & Safari only): ⋅  Open Safari and load your public Evernote URL. ⋅  Use File/Save As... and save a WebArchive file somewhere f...

Re: Why do my do my webpage links keep evaporating?

In reviewing what the delta is between disappearances, I can only come up with the common axis of time. Launches? Restarts? Hard to tell, as I don't reference these webpages every Scrivener session. Having a research folder full of essentially null webpage pointers to my Evernotebooks, I recreated o...

Why do my do my webpage links keep evaporating?

It happened again. Third time. As the title of this kvetch describes, my Scrivener research links keep, well... evaporating. Allow me to describe: I've compiled a small mountain of notes in Evernote notebooks. I publish these notebooks, copy the URL, and create a webpage link in Scrivener that, inde...
