Re: Author country not showing on title page

Not sure I fully understand the question, but perhaps this will help from Scrivener’s documentation on placeholders.

Navigation help pls

One of my Scrivener projects contains about 150 folders and 500 documents in the Binder. Attached is a simplified view. When I search for a word or phrase in my manuscript, the Binder changes to show only those documents that contain the word or phrase. The problem is, I often don't know which docum...

Re: Issue Compiling to Kindle Format?

If you create a small test file that contains the indentation problem, then zip and upload it to this thread, I will be happy to problem-solve it. Use gibberish text so that you are not sharing your manuscript.

Re: Compiling Footnotes

If you do not get a response from an expert, create a small test SCRIV document that captures your issue, compress it, and post it to this thread. I will be happy to problem-solve it for you.

In your test file, it’s better to use gibberish text rather than your real manuscript.

Re: ARM

So, one day after Apple announces its migration to ARM-based Mac’s, we expect Keith to communicate his Scrivener development strategy. We are a tough user group.

Re: Pasted text from now deleted file in trash disappears next day

As you are posting in the Scrivener for Mac forum, perhaps you also are using Time Machine for your backups? If yes, look there too to restore some earlier versions of your project and see if you can recover your lost text.

Re: Formatting Endnotes, Missing Heading Border, and TOC

OK, I think I've got it. In your SCRIV file, do this pls: 1. In File > Compile > Ebook Copy > Edit Format > Styles, delete the Block Quote and Endnotes styles. 2. In File > Compile > Ebook Copy > Edit Format > Styles, create a new paragraph style with a unique name to format your endnotes. 3. In Fil...

Re: Formatting Endnotes, Missing Heading Border, and TOC

It looks like you zipped the MOBI file instead of the SCRIV file, but that's ok. I was able to recreate your SCRIV file. When I open your MOBI file in Kindle Previewer 3 For Mac, I see the BEFORE image below. The SCRIV file that I created produces the AFTER image below. Screen Shot 2020-06-02 at 19....

Re: Formatting Endnotes, Missing Heading Border, and TOC

You need to zip the SCRIV file, then attach the zipped file to your post.

Re: Formatting Endnotes, Missing Heading Border, and TOC

Any chance you can create a small test file (a zipped SCRIV file) with gibberish text that depicts your Endnotes problem? If yes, I will be happy to look at it.

Re: The m dash seems too long to my eye

You probably know this, but on a Mac Shift+Option+Minus will give you an em-dash. Option+Minus will give you an en-dash. As Mark says, the length of each will vary by font.

Re: Is it possible to reduce large Scrivener 3 files with images?

Hi quetzal. I own Aff Designer and Aff Publisher, and both do the job. I do not own Aff Photo but, to your point, assume it does the job too. Good clarification.

Re: Is it possible to reduce large Scrivener 3 files with images?

I’m not sure what format your photos are in, or whether this will help you. But I will mention that I use a free software product named ImageOptim to compress JPG and PNG files. You can adjust the settings to compress files up to 70%. In my case, I edit photos in Affinity Publisher, then export to J...
