Re: Live Preview and Print-Scaling bug

You're absolutely right – thanks for the helpful observation (re differing effects depending on where from the change of orientation is initiated) and your screenshot. Tried your suggestion to change page orientation via File>PageSetup>Orientation rather than the Print Preview window – and immediate...

Re: Live Preview and Print-Scaling bug

Without intending to derail this thread for the issue with Print-Scaling and Live Preview: Page Guides in 1.3.1 are not working for me either. If you have a look at the images below you may see what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/C2wlkFU.jpg and here: https://i.imgur.com/dXUenJz.jpg?1 The background of...

Re: Live Print Preview differences El Cap / Sierra

@xiamenese: thanks for your suggestion. Indeed, a great way to trim some of macOS's gremlins. For the above issue unfortunately of no effect. The issue in this thread is confirmed and some of the discussion and dev responses have taken place in the bug-hunting thread: http://www.literatureandlatte.c...

Re: Live Preview and Print-Scaling bug

Thanks for the hint. Unfortunately, using page guides has never worked for me. The guides simply don't indicate reliably the printing area; in fact they are way off, always allowing for more to go an a page than actually does. After a number of trials, change of printer-drivers, out-put format etc. ...

Re: Live Preview and Print-Scaling bug

Thanks for your response, explanation and moderately reassuring assessment about my work-around. Let's keep fingers crossed for a fix that enables the feature again in its past glory. Many of the people I've infected with my enthusiasm for Scapple use the app to create hand-outs for students – and u...

Re: Live Preview and Print-Scaling bug

Unfortunately scaling will have to be entirely removed in a future update. Since Apple changed how this feature works, it no longer works with the type of layout we're using and it would require quite a lot of work to restore the capability. This is most unfortunate; the scaling function is crucial...

Live Preview and Print-Scaling bug

As reported in this thread here http://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=49713 the live preview and print-scaling functionality is not working in 1.3 and 1.3.1 on El Cap,, Sierra and HighSierra. I'm posting this in the bug-thread for the record – and obviously hoping that thi...

Re: Live Print Preview differences El Cap / Sierra

Just upgraded my back-up machine to High Sierra. The issue persists – I'm sorry to report that neither Live Preview works (the image stays static when percentages are changed) nor does a change in the percentage box in the print dialogue result in a different size of the printed document. I've tried...

Re: Live Print Preview differences El Cap / Sierra

Just tried this issue on an old Yosemite (10.10.5) OS with Scapple 1.2. Both live preview in the print dialogue and the scaling work fine with this setup. Then I upgraded to Scapple 1.3.1 on the same old OS and the bug appears: both the preview and the actual scaling are unresponsive to any percenta...

Re: Live Print Preview differences El Cap / Sierra

Today I was unable to scale a print-out a Scapple Document to anything below 100% – the print-dialogue accepted a value of 55% but the actual print-out was an 8-page monster at 100%. I used the same document on my back-up machine (running El Cap and Scapple 1.2) and the scaling down worked flawlessl...

Re: Live Print Preview differences El Cap / Sierra

I mean to say, once you press Cmd-P, that’s all macOS. That's what I suspected you might say. However, a quick check with a few other apps shows that Preview, Mail, Safari, but also Skim and Acrobat have a live preview window (after you hit Cmd+P) in Sierra that Scapple still had in El Cap and that...

Re: Live Print Preview differences El Cap / Sierra

I've tried this with a simple new story board; unfortunately no change to the behaviour described above. In the File>PageSetup the page guides indeed shift when I alter the percentage. However, what I meant was the preview window that appears after I hit Cmd+P. This window responds in El Cap to a ch...

Live Print Preview differences El Cap / Sierra

I often try to squeeze as much onto an A4 page as possible, juggling legibility with max amount of boxes and text. One feature that has helped me in the past (beside "Scale to fit one page") is using the live print-preview and the indication of the amount of pages in the print-dialogue; I ...

Re: scapple development

There’ll be a very nice (free) update to Scapple for macOS at the same time as Scrivener 3 is released. Nothing complicated, but a freshened-up inspector and UI and a very cool new way of applying note styles and creating styled notes. Very good news. Looking forward to a spruced-up inspector and n...

Re: Scapple Forum Section for "Using Scapple"

I'd second docland's suggestion for a new "Using Scapple" section. Who knows, maybe more users are crawling out of the woodwork if it's there? I've made a "style repository" storyboard into which I have copied all my customized boxes, text and background shape styles; quite a few...
