Re: Apple iPad & Scrivener

I don't want and wouldn't buy Scrivener for the iPad. Scrivener has become the center of all my writing efforts (articles, books, web pages, courses, anything), but I need a full platform (for me a MacBook Pro) to have it do everything. I DO like to draft pieces on the iPad, but for me, it's like a ...

Re: Two Crashes in two minutes

I can't judge for certain, but I'll certainly be trying to capture some proof, but I have an impression that when it's happening, it's on very large files. I'll see if I can capture some data about size effects if it happens again.

Two Crashes in two minutes

Here's what was going on ... I just created a new Scrivener project and had imported some PDFs and a couple of DOCs. I was looking through them one at a time in Scrivener when without warning, the application crashed. I've captured the dump below. The only thing running at the time besides Scrivener...

I would have thought this wouldn't happen

I was importing files and accidentally included the scrivener repository. All of the files were imported under the repository directory. I would have thought that a scrivener file would refuse to import itself.

Re: Some changes I'd like to see

Since the suggestion was made to use DevonAgent & DevonThink, how is it that people are able to integrate this with Scrivener ... or do they integrate it? I've been playing with the Devon apps on a trial, trying to decide if I want to spend the money for them, but I'm not sure yet how they fit i...

Re: Some changes I'd like to see

Thanks for your comments I've been trying the Devon tools ... so far I don't find them terribly useful. It could be that I just haven't unlearned old habits, but I don't know that I'll be far enough along before my trial period is up. If I can't find a way to make them work before my trial period is...

Some changes I'd like to see

As I've been using Scrivener more and more regularly, I've run across annoyances and other issues that cause problems, but which could be different. It could be that I'm missing something, but I've looked for all of these and either found them too limited or non-existent. Here are the ideas I have f...

Re: Scrivener Crash

More console information ... After restarting Scrivener and looking at that document and several others, I looked back to the console log and found this: 2008-11-19 21:07:57.494 Scrivener[453] *** -[NSBundle load]: Error loading code /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL/SIMBL.bundle/Contents/MacOS/SIMBL for...

Scrivener Crash

I was working with Scrivener on an online training course. I had just finished writing in some references into one of the lessons and was looking through my research for that lesson, item by item. I had selected and reviewed 6 documents and when I clicked on the 7th (a PDF made from a PowerPoint pre...

This crash has me confused

Sequence: I had been working on two projects. I shutdown Scrivener. Without it running, I did some checking in Finder, locating files and such. Afterwards, I started Scrivener again. It opened the two projects I had been working on. I decided to try an experiment with a new Scrivener file, so first ...

Lockup/Run-away

I wish I could give you more on this one, but here's what I've got 1. I was editing a project where I'm updating online course material. 2. I was working with research documents 3. I was looking at the card view of one of the folders when I decided to look at something that had been imported from a ...

Bulk Bookmark Imports When I'm researching online, I usually collect pages of interest to me as tabs in Firefox, then add them to my bookmarks in Firefox by using "Bookmark All Tabs...". I'd love to be able to go to a folder of book marks and import all of the pages into a Scrivener projec...

Re: Scrivener Crashes

Thanks Keith, As an experienced software developer & tester myself, I know how important it is to make it reproducible. However, so far I've not been able to reproduce the problem. It could be that the root cause is somewhere further back in the sequence of what I've done. Let me add some more t...

Scrivener Crashes

While working on a project, I decided to add some new labels for classifying research documents. I had just added one new label and was adding the second when Scrivener crashed. I am using Version 1.11. On restarting Scrivener, the project I was working on was closed and the label I added was not av...

Scrivener Crashes

I am doing the 30-day free trial and I like what I'm seeing. I'm finding the application very useful. HOWEVER, it is crashing on me pretty regularly. Usually it happens when I'm closing a project window I haven't tied it to anything more specific than that. It has happened on more than one project, ...
