Re: Many Frustrations with Scrivener

Thanks for your kind reply, Lunk! 1. I did create one main folder for my book and then a subfolder for each individual chapter. I also set it up to save to my laptop's local SSD drive, and the backup to my 1-Gigabyte Dropbox account, which is only 11% full. 2. The cork board is now visible. Thanks! ...

Re: Many Frustrations with Scrivener

#4. I also suggested that Scrivener add a thesaurus within the program. Perhaps one of the many synonyms files that are available as Open Source, such as are used with OpenOffice.org, Libre Office, or awesome and FREE Calligra Office. #5. When sellecting the "Related Words" option, nothing...

Re: Many Frustrations with Scrivener

David: Many thanks for your kind reply. I am using mostly the awesome FREE Libre Office word processor for most of my writing and sometimes SoftMaker's Text Maker 2016. I always save my work in BOTH the word processors' native format AND also save as *.doc to have better compatibility as well as an ...

Many Frustrations with Scrivener

I am trying very hard to learn this program. I have watched a dozen tutorial videos on YouTube more than once. I even aquired a book on Scrivener. I know a bunch of people seem to really love it. Perhaps on Mac they have a much better program. But Scrivener on Windows has so far been a great frustra...

Sinonyms lookup

Dear Friends: When trying to find sinonyms, I know I can sellect a word with my mouse and then right click and go to any of a number of online resources for some optional words. Of course, when working off line, no options are available. I literally spend several days at a time with no Internet avai...

Smart quotes bug

Hello, my friends. When importing text into a chapter, (usually word processor files produced in LibreOffice and saved as *.doc files) I frequently end up with a question mark following all the single or double closing smart quotes and sometimes even after the opening smart quotes. It is driving me ...

Re: Cannot enter serial code

Have you looked under the Help menu? Thanks for the note! On my laptop install, there is NOTHING in the Help menu to enter registration info. On my desktop machine, it appears, but after entering the name and serial number, I get the nag screen again and then it crashes. Then I get this screen (cli...

Cannot enter serial code

Hello friends. I recently purchased Scrivener and also Scapple, both for the Windows OS. I had no problem installing them on my Lenovo laptop, both on Windows 10 and also on LinuxMint 17.3 via Wine. However, I cannot find any place to put in my purchased serial numbers on either program. There is no...

Scrivener installed via Wine

Dear friends: Greetings from central Mexico. This is my first post, as I just joined up today. I see the Linux version has not been updated. I am running my favorite Linux distro: 64-bit LinuxMint, version 17.3 (Rosa). I had no problem installing the Windows version of Scrivener via Wine. It appears...
