Speech/Voice software

Hi. I've been using Scrivener for years. Absolutely love it. Up till now, I've had Mac's Alex read my work back to me. I'm a big fan. But I hear there are even better voices out there. Wondered which software/apps you'd recommend for use with Scrivener? Thanks.

Re: Sharing with iPad user

Thanks for replying so quickly, Amber. I'm a bit confused just reading this, but I'll give these options a try. Often it all makes perfect sense once I actually carry out the steps! Take care,

Sharing with iPad user

Hi My agent uses an iPad to read through my manuscript. Last version that I sent her, she wasn't able to see my comments (which showed up fine on the same compiled document on my Mac laptop). The manual suggests using Simplenote to share, so I was considering giving that a try. However, it also says...

Re: Word Count for Snapshots

Thanks. Method #1 works great. (I'm at the tail-end of a project so haven't uploaded the newer version yet). :D

Re: Word Count for Snapshots

As always, fast and easy! :D The word count didn't show up on my footer, but I was able to pull it up with Project -->Text Statistics. Many thanks. (I just love this software, by the way. I'm constantly discovering neat features.)

Word Count for Snapshots

I just discovered the Snapshots feature and love it. :D It would be really helpful to be able to get a word count for Snapshots, to compare versions. (Perhaps there's already a way to do that?)

Thanks

Re: Chapter Titles Missing from Exported Document

Thanks, Amber. I seem to have worked out the issues I was having with Chapter titles, by unchecking the 'As Is' option. Also I already had the automatic chapter numbering in each folder heading in the Binder. The new update has a default which automatically numbers chapters (a nice feature). But of ...

Converting to .doc and Loss of Paragraph Indent

In the previous version of Scrivener, I had no problem converting to .doc format. Now I compile into .rtf as suggested by the program. Then I Save As a .doc document. That used to work. With the new update, some of the paragraph indents are preserved (at the beginning of the document) but then they ...

Glad to hear you haven't abandoned Aeon (or its users)! It's a remarkable program. Sounds like you've had a roller-coaster time. Hang in there! :D Rita

Re: New Aeon user--Buglist after day one

Matt, Found a way around the bunching up of time at the end of the novel in Story-Arc View. I had originally chosen the day after my story ends for the end date. Then Story-Arc View automatically made the final section represent a week (rather than a day as it had for all the other days -- same amou...

Re: New Aeon user--Buglist after day one

Hi Matt First, let me say just how much I love your program. Seeing my whole novel in visual form has really helped me complete the outline and gain mental clarity about the story as a whole. I can't thank you enough. Here are some glitches I've run into, which I hope will help you continue to refin...

Re: Sketches for Story-Arc View

Hi Matt,

Is there a way to hide the 'Date:' before the Event name in Story-Arc View? It feels redundant (seeing as I have the timeline above, plus the time of day is more important to me than the date) and clutters up the screen. Many thanks. :D Rita
