I'm new to (creative) writing and am curious about how other folks organize Scrivener. I've been doing a creative writing course as well as Tim Clare's 100 Days of Writing podcast challenge, as well as reading a number of craft books. I've been putting everything from these—different writing exercis...
Good news: This is already possible in the Mac version and will be available in the 3.0 version for Windows. :) If you're on Mac and this isn't working, check that "Automatically detect [[document links]]" is enabled in the Corrections tab of Scrivener > Preferences. Oh my goodness, you j...
I think I have a somewhat related request. Thanks to this post, I learned that internal linking was possible in Scrivener, which I didn't know before. Thank you! What I would love to see is faster internal linking perhaps adopting a method like what I see in some of the newer notetaking apps, specif...
I badly want to migrate away from Evernote. The new version is slow and buggy. Frequently, I have to restart because it simply will not load my (text) notes. It's become practically unusable for me. On top of that, they've made some other decisions that left a bad taste in my mouth—for instance, the...
Are you someone who started writing after years and years of wanting to write, but never actually doing it? What finally got you going? Since I was a child, I wanted to be a writer. I wrote lots of stories when I was a kid, and into high school. Then when university came, and grad school, I sort of ...
Hi, I just re-installed Scrivener a few weeks after getting a fresh install of Yosemite (10.10.3) on my Macbook Pro. However, I haven't been able to start the program. Every time I do, it immediately quits and I get the error message "Scrivener has quit unexpectedly." I don't see anything ...
So, at some point yesterday, spell check stopped working in Scrivener. It won't underline anything as I type. All the options are enabled in preferences, and yet I can type anything and it won't get underlined. I'm not sure what happened with Scrivener. I tried quitting and restarting, logging out a...
I'm writing a dissertation and often have phrases that have an abbreviation followed by a word that should not be capitalized (for example, U.S. citizens). Scrivener currently autocorrects this. Is there a way to tell the program to ignore capitalization problems after certain words? I don't want to...
I was using Scrivener and closed a project. It started to the auto-backup and then crashed. I sent the Scrivener crash report and then opened up another project file. I then clicked on a folder I had created within that project called "Scraps" and Scrivener became non-responsive for a coup...
When I close one of my Scrivener projects in the NaNoWriMo edition, it backs it up to a .zip file somewhere. Why is it doing this, and can I make it stop?
Thanks! I also realized not long after posting that it's very easy to fix in Nisus Writer Pro, too, but this is just as easy and lets me fix it all before I export the draft.
