Re: No functionality difference between Draft vs Research Node

I too would like to put selected Research items (web archives, PDFs, etc.) alongside the corresponding Draft nodes. It is already great to be able to combine them in 1 project, would be even better to locate them closer to the corresponding writing work. Some auto-icon and auto-exclude from compiles...

Tables and Fonts (issue does not happen in TextEdit)

Make a table, type some text in each cell, then select all cells & change the font face. Now add a row or column, type into new cell, the new row or column has reverted to the earlier font. Tested that this does not happen in TextEdit (in case that is relevant), so possibly not a built-in Apple ...

Re: Freeform corkboard - select vs. change order

Yes, though Selection really cannot automatically mean change-Z-order if Z-order is important.

I might want to move an individual card a bit. The only way to move it is to select it. If that changes Z-order then I have to re-do all overlapping cards.

Cheers

Re: Freeform corkboard - select vs. change order

Make notecards A, B, C, D. Move B over bottom right of A. Move C over bottom right of B. Move D over bottom right of C. Drag-select all 4 cards, with starting point to top-left of A. Drag-select all 4 cards, with starting point to bottom-right of B. One of these will change the free-form Z-ordering ...

Re: See Inspector/Comments tab in Search or Manual Scrivenings

Given: DocA0 (+ comment 0) .... DocA1 (+ comment 1) .... DocA2 (+ comment 2) .... DocA3 (+ comment 3) Test 1: Binder-select DocA0, Scrivenings view, editor shows DocA0-3, and inspector shows Comments 0,1,2,3. So far all good. Test 2: Binder-select DocA1 & Doc A3 (Scrivenings view), editor shows ...

See Inspector/Comments tab in Search or Manual Scrivenings

I like that the Inspector can show all comments for nested sub-documents when viewing the parent document in the binder with Scrivenings. I can't seem to get this when I manually select separately documents in Binder, or select all search results (also Scrivenings view). Am I doing something wrong, ...

Maximal desktop meta-data both ways

Would like to have as much as possible of desktop meta-data sync'ed both ways to the iPad, including (but not limited to :-) synopses, inline annotations & footnotes, inspector comments & footnotes, keywords, document and project notes, labels and status.

No need for snapshots on iPad.

Freeform corkboard - select vs. change order

When I place cards on the Freeform corkboard, I often have them overlapping each other. This means the z-ordering or layering of cards matters, e.g. so I can see all titles or synopses even when they overlap. But then I need a way to change the z-order of the cards, separately from selecting or movi...

Some operations not availble off network drive

I have a Scrivener doc on Mac-1. Can open it on Mac-1, and see all operations available under Format / Convert. I close that doc, go to Mac-2, mount network drive of Mac-1, and open the same document. Opens fine. But operations under Format / Convert are now disabled. Hopefully a bug, and not intend...

Re: Allow imported files in Draft

and it forces users to learn that such files aren't going to be part of the compile. Since Scrivener can tell which items cannot be compiled, it can indicate this in several possible ways, even right at the time of importing or placing the import. Possible small inconvenience just once for each ite...

Allow imported files in Draft

PDFs (etc.) cannot be placed in the Drafts folder today e.g. I might want to keep it in the relevant section of my draft (as I would in a physical binder) rather than always keep it in Research and insert less-visible links to it in Draft documents or meta-data. Could this restriction be lifted? I c...

Re: Automatically insert URL link with Clipping

Your call, but it works well when the source is not duplicated at too many sites. Just to make sure, is there currently any way to pull a useful link across with the clipping? Thanks.

Toolbar icons - Binder, Collections

These 2 icons toggle UI state in Scrivener. It would be nice if the icons changed state visibly when pressed. (Have not used all the other icons, don't know about them).

With some hesitation here ... The Outliner icon could be more distinctive if it suggested at least 2 columns.
