Re: Certain custom window layouts don't seem to save/load properly

I tried to reproduce this on a Windows 10 system and everything worked as it should.

So maybe it's just a wonky Wine/Linux thing that I just have to live with. I'm still grateful that Scrivener 3 (mostly) runs well on Linux.

Re: Bug: Default text preferences (line spacing)

Keep in mind that the formatting options in your screenshot only apply to new documents in your project, not existing ones.

(i.e. you may be encountering a bug, but it also may be unrelated to that window)

Re: Bug: "Import and Split" does not correctly apply formatting settings

I have also encountered this in my use of the Scrivener 3 beta version. (It also happens with a simple "import" of a ".md" file with no "split".) The contents of the imported file show up in a different font than the rest of my project (i.e. different from the project's...

Certain custom window layouts don't seem to save/load properly

Steps to reproduce: 1) Open a Scrivener project 2) Hide the Binder by clicking dropdown arrow next to the very first toolbar icon (labeled "view"). Now you have just the Editor pane visible (and maybe the Inspector), but no Binder 3) Go to Window -> Layouts -> Manage Layouts 4) Add a new c...

[Question] Is "two page" view going to be available?

"Two page" or "2-up" view is a standard feature of Word, LibreOffice, and is apparently available on the Mac version of Scrivener. It lets you easily view and work on a document in two columns, which is perfect for larger monitors. In early 2018 AmberV said that this feature woul...

Re: RC13 - Double-clicking divider does not equalize split views

FWIW, I'm running RC13 HiDPI on Windows 10 (no linux involvement) and if I understand the question , I have my editor split one document on top and perhaps some other (but it makes no difference if it is the same) document in the other editor. If I double-click on the split divider after I've adjus...

Re: RC13 - Double-clicking divider does not equalize split views

What version of Wine are you using? Hi philjaq: I'm using wine 5.0-3ubuntu1, installed through Synaptic on Ubuntu 20.04. After a lot of trial and error, it now works, and works pretty great! Here are my tips to get it working: ⋅ install all "wine64" packages in Synaptic ⋅&n...

[LH4790] RC13 - Double-clicking divider does not equalize split views

Hello, The Scrivener tutorial's "Splitting the Editor" section states that with a split view in the editor: Double-clicking on the central divider will resize the two editors so that they are of equal height or width. In split view I can drag the divider around, but when I double-click it ...

Re: October 2019 Beta freezes on playonlinux when dragging and dropping text files into Scrivener

Hi letterrip, I can confirm that I'm having the exact same issue. I'm using the latest version of the beta on playonlinux using the latest stable release of 64-bit wine.

Re: small DLL problem

Some googling shows that MSVCR120.dll is part of Microsoft's "Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013".

You could download and install the file from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784 and see if it helps.

Re: [Beta][Question] Composition Mode.

If you go to File -> Options -> Appearance, under "General -> Colors -> Composition Mode" you'll see some color options. Is this what you were looking for?

Re: [BUG] 2.9.0.1 Crash immediately after opening

Scrivener 3 was re-written as a 64-bit application. I'm afraid that means it won't run on 32-bit systems anymore :(

edit: I stand corrected! Sorry to spread misinformation -- I confused the info about Mac and Windows versions

Re: Scrivener 2.9 (WINE-related)

Same problem here under WINE -- the install goes fine, I get the beta expiry message, and then the next Scrivener window (with contents only partially displayed) just hangs. Ubuntu 17.10 using PlayOnLinux 4.2.12 (WINE v. 2.0.2-2ubuntu1) I'm really hoping Scrivener 3 will work under WINE eventually :)

Re: Scrivener won't install on Ubuntu 16.04

I'm glad you figured it out! Your reply reminded me that I actually had to deal with that same error message -- I installed a bunch of "GNU SmallTalk" libraries until I figured out that gst = libgstreamer!

Happy Scrivening!
