Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

If you look at the release notes for 13.3.1 it's just a bunch of small specific bug fixes, nothing that suggests it would fix this issue.

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

How old is your iPad? Mine is from 2017 and syncs fine with iOS 13. My iPhone is a current model and doesn’t sync one project. If you’re not using a brand new device with OS 13 you should be fine.

Re: How Does Scrivener Look on iPhone 11 Pro / iPhone 11 Pro Max ?

It looks great on my 11 pro max, but not all projects sync, including those that did so just fine on iphone 7. This is a known issue but proving to be very hard to isolate and fix.

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

This is my first post in this thread, and I'm just writing into to politely express my frustration not just with the syncing issue, but with the tone of the response from L&L. I've been a user of Scrivener since nearly the beginning and have turned over a dozen other people on to it. It's an am...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

Hmmm....in my case & I think some others in this thread, the projects that crash actually originated in Scrivener 2 or 1. What happens if you use the Import -> Scrivener project command to import the converted project into a new, blank, Scrivener 3 project? It shouldn't matter. But this address...

kcward wrote:With 20 pages of folks reporting issues, you can't find a reproduction case? Sorry, neither of these excuses holds water.

Have you isolated and submitted the project that is crashing for you? 20 pages of people complaining are no help if they don’t try to solve the problem.

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

In some post I read: "Only a few users are affected and L&L cannot reproduce the problem." In our Facebook group, almost a quarter of the iOs users are affected. Mostly it's users like me who are using the latest hardware. The fact is, with the last version of iOs, it worked fine, but...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

It worked fine for me on an old device. It still work on another (2017 iPad Pro). But not on my new phone. That sure looks like a hardware problem to me. Have you isolated the project (s) that are causing the crash? If so, have you submitted a copy to L&L for testing? If not, then why not help t...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

Possibly. Unfortunately it’s a terribly inconsistent issue and thus really hard to diagnose or predict. It seems to be most common with new devices. I had an iphone 7 that worked fine then when I updated to iphone 11 it stopped, despite an ostensibly more powerful device. I have been able to work ar...

Re: Why do you use or want a Mac?

I’ve ben using a mac desktop since 2004 and laptop since 2006. On my 2nd desktop and third laptop. Macs last me 5+ years compared to my windows machines which were usable for 2-3. So the annual cost of ownership has been less, I think. But the hook for me was unix. I’d been doing a lot of web develo...

Re: Mac Touch Bar Request

No you’d need to use either the custom bar or the native one. ( I made mine before Scrivener had native support. ) But it’s just one touch to toggle bars. I tend to use the custom bar for organizational tasks and the native one while writing. The basic text stuff I still do with the keyboard predomi...

Re: Mac Touch Bar Request

Yes I’d agree. This was one of the first things I added when I set up a custom TouchBar for Scrivener using BTT.

Re: Scrivener as a website drafting environment

I agree that Scrivener may not be ideal for actually producing your web pages, but it’s great for (e.g.) planning out content, next six weeks of blog posts, etc. which you can copy and paste into your CMS.

Especially if you want to keep content creation and formatting etc. as discrete activities.
