Suggestion: Importing shapes, backgrounds, lines and adding icons.

First off, LOVE the software. In Scrivener, we can create our own backgrounds, icons, etc. I would like to request the same kind of things for Scapple. For example with borders we have rounded, square, jagged and cloud. I would like to be able to create my own borders, lines, etc. and import them. Y...

Re: Modify automatic "Chapter one" headings text (chapters) to roman numerals

I found this blog post - see if it helps: https://www.scrivenervirgin.com/2017/07/chapter-titles-numbering-structuring/ My gracious! While I do not yet have a use for that, I loved it. It got printed to a pdf and saved for future use in my Tips folder in Scrivener. I also am a Kindle Unlimited user...

Re: Can I turn off autocorrect just for proper nouns?

Every time I type a new one in (Wexford, Benjamin. Emain Macha. Galway) it autocorrects to something strange. Ctrl+z works wonders on things like that but you will be doing it a lot. Still, I recommend adding them to your speller anyway. There are two benefits. 1. It'll stop correcting but more imp...

Re: How do I select text and tell it to stop being a link?

As a genealogist, we have our own formatting of links that may work for you. I have to agree that it's very annoying when it auto-formats after URLs. I finally tried my genealogy formatting and it worked perfectly, I simply type <> and place my cursor in the middle, then paste it. and done. It's act...

How to copy formatting only, if not, feature request.

One of the handiest features I ever use in any software is copy/paste formatting. That is so much easier then the tedious changes that are required. I am well aware that you can create a new format setting but formatting changes may only be for a few notes and not something I will ever use again. I ...

Re: Scapple Feature Request

If you need something more complex ... The beauty of Scapple is its simplicity. Naturally, but I see no reason that it cannot be simple and more powerful at the same time. In other words, you can still use it for simple mind mapping but for power users, why can't they add more features? What does i...

Just like the one in the Scrivener forum?

Re: Scrivener Support for Reference Managers (Zotero, Endnote, Mendeley, etc)

Not one comment is helpful. Not one? Not even the one pointing you to the manual page on how to use placeholder citations with Endnote? Sadly, no. I cannot afford EndNote, hence my use of Zotero. I fully understand that it may be worth the purchase, but when you don't have the money, you simply don...

Re: Scrivener Support for Reference Managers (Zotero, Endnote, Mendeley, etc)

I am really very disappointed in so many comments in this thread. The point of forums are for discussion, not cut-downs. The end meaning here is that the user wants to use some bibliographic software in combination with Scrivener and with these kinds of responses, you may have just driven a customer...

Re: Capital "i" is not work

That's auto-correct. Here is how to fix the problem.

Go to Tools > Options > Corrections.
Under "Auto-Capitalization" uncheck "Capitalize 'i'".

Good luck!

How to strip formatting of selected text only?

I have a problem. I have a folder that has various notes and snippets from websites. Most of the time I want to keep their original format because they may have links in the them that I may need later. Usually, that works fine for me, but I like my own comments and notes to be in the default writing...

I don't seem to have it either. I wish Mac and Windows were a bit more equal, but maybe one day.

I don't have an answer but this is an older question so I wanted to ask if you ever tried doing that?

Re: Scrivener Manual will not open.

Was this a paragraph you typed in yourself, or did you import it, perhaps from Word or a web page? It seems to me there must be a gremlin in that paragraph. Do you have many like that? Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a gremlin too. lol! Well, I'm brand spanking new to Scrivener and I had an extensive no...

Re: Scrivener Manual will not open.

I can retype the paragraph at the beginning of the affected paragraph and it works fine. However, as I type that one affected paragraph keeps dropping to a new line. It refuses to be a part of what I'm typing immediately in front of it. It is so odd! The fact that it carries over through the compile...
