Re: Linguistic Focus

In addition to choosing one in the Binder, did you make the document active (click into, etc.) before trying to enable Linguistic Focus (LF)? Simple thing to miss––I've done it more than once. Edit to add :The keyboard shortcut––control + command + L––works for me. [Side note: you can also use LF in...

Re: Split window Lock in Place document overwritten by Quick Search result

After reading (specifically para. 2) the following from the Manual––Sec. 12.2.1, Locking the Editor ––I took it as expected behavior. I presumed the reason for the different behaviors between Project Search and Quick Search (QS) was that QS's frame of reference is the active document as indicated in...

Re: The Inspector? A Detailed Explanation Please.

P.S. And I would add that it is not right to ask people to spend their valuable time explaining things for you “in detail”, if you have not put in the effort to learn these things yourself from the readily available materials. You're one of those special kinds of assholes, aren't you? I ask for &qu...

Re: Scrolling within Index Cards

This doesn’t supplant the wish list item, but might be found serviceable. I find Quick Reference Panels (QR) useful tools* for viewing structure possibility. I set the relevant documents as Project Bookmarks prior to the viewing session so they’re available in QR Bookmark Sidebars. As needed, I togg...

Re: Macros in Scrivener.....? Or anything similar?

Also: how can I get email notification of any replies to my posts? I only have experience with the email notification preference for PMs. There's a list of that and other options at: Begin at the lefthand side of any forum page at your Forum user name dropdown menu > Settings > (at top row) Board P...

Re: L&L Website appears broken on iOS

This is still evident for me using a Macbook Air 13" at each display resolution, macOS 10.14.6. The following things get no response: Forum --- Dropdowns for Logout at forum name and Notification Bell (advances to user control panel for notifications instead). Dropdowns/Links at top of page for...

Re: Highlight color in search

You're welcome. An example of searching the manual for this feature: Open it in Preview...have the sidebar open to thumbnails or table of contents...in the search box enter 'search results highlight'. In this case, the results do include those exact terms in the last thumbnail's few lines of text. I...

Re: Highlight color in search

Try the setting at Scrivener Preferences > Appearance > Textual Marks > Search Results Highlights > Colors.

You can also change the search results underline color at that appearance/textual marks pane.

Re: Don't Want to Have to Close Scrivener Frequently

There's a setting at -- Scrivener Preferences > General > Automatic Quit > Automatically quit after a period of inactivity ... Right below that is -- Quit after inactive for: ? minute(s) .... While this doesn't address the bug (if that's what it is), it'll at least avoid it from being triggered when...

Scrivener on the Mac is essentially Xcode for writers. Wait... I thought someone decided that books and apps were not the same... Re: Any other sync options on the horizon ?

Yes, that's the one I tried, and it works with smaller files, but not with very big ones. I think this *could* change if in iOS 13 I use PINNED files so the iPad / iPhone keeps them completely downloaded on my device. But we will have to see. Currently, the iCloud Drive upload size limit for a sing...

Re: make it so that the option for “view the groups subdocuments as scrivenings” is turned on by default ?

Thank you. This solves the issue partially but not completely. Once I select this setting/option for the project, the largest/default (the ones called "drafts"," research", and "trash" documents remain in the setting by default. However, subdocuments (that have more su...
