Re: Data doesn't exist error

At least a part of the solution? Working Between Platforms Those users who own both the macOS and Windows versions of Scrivener and who work between them may be wondering about the best upgrade route for them given the gap between the releases of Scrivener 3 for macOS and Windows. Such users have th...

Re: Lost work after Scrivener crash

This concerns your future use of Time Machine (TM), not recovery. As a supplement to what's been said by Kinsey regarding TM, there are helpful, best practice tips on its usage with Scrivener in the Scrivener manual, page 71. Tips for Using Time Machine Time Machine will automatically back up your c...

Re: Keyboard shortcuts for jumping to next sentence/selecting sentence

Scrivener just uses the standard macOS bindings here, and sadly Apple doesn't provide a next/previous sentence binding. I doubt we have a shortcut available that would work for it, either. Having adopted a 2018 iPad as my primary on-the-go writing tool, I lament that same lack when using a keyboard...

Re: Curious sync issue

How do I get the MacOS version to display what I am seeing in the IOS version? I learned that I can upload a screenshot of what I'm seeing. What I'm seeing is a document containing one page in the binder area, which was the one item I had edited on IOS. All other documents in the binder are not the...

Re: Compile Removes Paragraph Breaks

I'm not sure, but is this a custom format? If so, check to see if you've entered "Single return" as a Separator option(s). Manual reference: 24.4.3 Separator Settings Each type of separator that can be made use of in defaults or per layout will have the same four options available to them:...

Re: Is there a way to copy the content of the synopsis and the document notes into their document

The excerpt from the manual says— Useful if you’ve done a little pre-composition in Outliner or Corkboard mode, and now wish to push those ideas into the manuscript text. —so the something(s) doesn’t necessarily have to be a Synopsis; just a text transfer from tools some prefer to use to begin the w...

Re: Is there a way to copy the content of the synopsis and the document notes into their document

Whenever I have a few documents selected, the feature, now called Documents > Autofill > Append Synopses to Main Text, appears to be greyed out. Please advise how one can use this feature. Thanks! Update: It seems to work, sometimes. Sometimes says Append, sometimes says Send, sometimes is greyed o...

Re: Scrivener 3.1.1 - Discontinues ePub2

For now for an easily accomplished workaround, see the following discussion link regarding Kobo. In particular, this is AmberV's instructions on how to get Scrivener 3.1. to work with ePub 2: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=279155#p279155 EDIT: See next post by KB (< thank y...

Re: ePub3 / Kindle Kf8 no longer in compile list?

I think they’re not listed because they’re now the standard. See “Compile—Ebooks” note: Epub 3 and Kindle KF8 formats now allow for direct formatting, making them much more like the other Compile formats and less reliant on styles (although styles will still produce the best results for these format...

Re: Regular manual backups and possible crashings

Does anyone knows if I can move a Scrivener's .zip file from iCloud Drive to FileApp to open the .zip file in there and then opening it in Scrivener? Yes, you can. As AmberV said, you can access the ZIP in Apple’s Files App. Long-press the ZIP > Move > On My iPad > FileApp/Downloads > Copy....That ...

Re: Option to show synopsis with titles in scrivenings?

This might serve your purposes, for now anyway. I use Inline Annotations for entering synopses or other notations wherever needed. They can be easily stripped out at Compile. In the screenshot below of a Scrivenings session (taken in the tutorial), the Synopsis (via copy and paste) is inside the red...
