[iOS Scriv] Additional ID/meta capability at Projects Screen

In a project ‘square’ — size of project. Also, as it stands, a project’s size isn’t available at Apple’s Files app On My iPad either directly or indirectly at Menu > Info. (I’m at iOS 12. Don’t know about 13.) The ability to tag (color and/or otherwise) an item in the projects list and/or project ‘s...

Re: Referenced inline footnotes - I follow the manual, nothing happens

Are you by any chance referencing an older manual? Mine--downloaded from the Scrivener site yesterday--shows section 18.2.3 as "Finding Inline Notation," two sentences, no steps. That's what it is––I used the manual accessed within Scrivener. I'm still on v3.1.3 as I've not upgraded to ma...

Re: Referenced inline footnotes - I follow the manual, nothing happens

Aaaaaaand...where did the OP find format settings for footnotes and endnotes? I've searched every panel in Preferences, Toolbar icon > Settings, and Compile. Also did a word search through the user's manual, but no joy. The OP's footnote format pane screenshot is from the Compile Format Designer wh...

Re: Referenced inline footnotes - I follow the manual, nothing happens

What am I missing? Like the OP, I'm following the instructions letter for letter, but am still not getting the desired results. 11.07.19_for_forum.png Both the text document and the citations list document are included in Print > PDF. Same for compiled output. :::scratching my head::: Only thing I ...

Re: "take results to the editor" 11.1—order probelm in Editor

Foggy memory on the possible technical reason* why this is, but I'm pretty sure I've read one. The way around it is to command select what you want from the list (or command-A for all) before you choose the sort option, then click the (b) button. *Non-technical reasoning––to the Editor, the collecti...

Re: Word count to cursor with multiple documents selected?

Thanks, Jim. I've not looked at the Outliner in that way. In addition, now that I have a bit more time to expand on my post––a quick way that I use. If I'm understanding the OP, I think it'll be useful for them. It involves the aforementioned statistic tools and Inline Annotations*. Create a test pr...

Try the options at Project menu > Statistics....

Reference material at Help menu > Scrivener Manual > Section 20.1–– Goals and Statistics Tracking Tools––to its end, 20.1.4.

Such behavior would certainly be unusual for L&L. They've never earned the descriptors *cruel* or *low*. Worry not; whereas NaNo is an event they've been a longtime supporter of, I'm sure they've planned accordingly.

Re: How can I select and copy all inline annotations to new scrivener doc?

This is the method I use. Maybe it’ll meet your needs or spawn other ideas. I export them at: File menu > Export > Comments & Annotations… * After performing the above, a window will appear with options that include at the bottom whether to export just a selection** of documents, whether to incl...

Re: 95mb file size for 100,000 word .scriv file

You can delete one or more of them in the Snapshots tab of the Inspector or by using the Snapshots Manager. It sounds that you want to remove a bulk quantity of them so the Snapshots Manager will be best. Regardless, to give you a better understanding of Snapshots, it’d help you to read both (they’r...

Re: Linguistic Focus

In addition to choosing one in the Binder, did you make the document active (click into, etc.) before trying to enable Linguistic Focus (LF)? Simple thing to miss––I've done it more than once. Edit to add :The keyboard shortcut––control + command + L––works for me. [Side note: you can also use LF in...

Re: Split window Lock in Place document overwritten by Quick Search result

After reading (specifically para. 2) the following from the Manual––Sec. 12.2.1, Locking the Editor ––I took it as expected behavior. I presumed the reason for the different behaviors between Project Search and Quick Search (QS) was that QS's frame of reference is the active document as indicated in...
