Problem showing changes in Folder/Text titles in composite mode with BiDi or RTL characters

If I set to show each text title in the composite mode, then if I try to change a title in the composite area with some non-Latin characters (RTL, Persian in my case) then the new characters (only the new ones) do not show. Please note that both binder or inspector reflect the changes correctly. Als...

Re: Internal alias: using same text/folder in other folders

Thanks AmberV, I used to use the Dynamic model (search based collections) and did not know about the possibility of restructuring the texts in collections. The latter one solves lots of problems, Just note that then I guess we could not have both the static and dynamic mechanisms at the same time. I...

Re: Directly use CiteProc for citation and bibliographies

Thanks for the detailed answer jstovell! Anyway, beyond the details I hope that we would see a more streamlined citation process in Scrivener. Scrivener has features that match very good with academic writing requirements and easy citation management, at least for some plain text forms, is a missing...

Re: Create toolbar icon and shortcut for RTL (writing direction)

Thanks Mr X!
Until today I did not know we can do such thing in Mac. So the problem is now smaller, just an icon for RTL toggle.

Directly use CiteProc for citation and bibliographies

Most of the solution that I find for citation and bibliography in Scrivener is to insert something in the document and then down the stream some other application such as pandoc, libreoffice, bibtex ... would handle citations and bibliography. But why not support the whole process all in Scrivener, ...

Internal alias: using same text/folder in other folders

A project might be intended to output different piece of documents where they share common pieces of texts. Using internal aliases one can share folders or texts between different some other folders where each of these other folder is supposed to be compilde to some specific document.

Export images when compilining plain text

One use (probably common?) of plain text compilation is to feed the tool-chain of some markup language. Markups do not rely on formattings in Scrivener but for the images they need to find the image file. Instead of keeping image files in two places (one in Scrivener and one in another folder) it wo...

Create toolbar icon and shortcut for RTL (writing direction)

Changing from LTR to RTL is cumbersome as each time one have to go deep in the menu for the change (this can happen several times in any piece of writing). If an icon and/or a shortcut exist then one can customize the toolbar and/or use the shortcut.

Re: being able to run a command with the compiled file as input

Thanks Amber, I will try it. I don't know how the requirement management processes work in Scrivener, but keep my one vote for extensiblity features (not bonded to multi-markdown) specially for those who prefer other writing protocols or toolchains. I wrote this book (actually dissertation) http://b...

Re: being able to run a command with the compiled file as input

My other comment just wiped out ... Thanks Amber for clarification and suggestions. The suggestion in your other post is somehow hacking Scrivener and usually I try to avoid them as with the next update that hidden feature might disappear or change. Using things like Hazle is an option (although not...

being able to run a command with the compiled file as input

I wrote a book in Asciidoc (Asciidoctor) and used Scrivener as the editor (an enjoyable experience!). I had a toolchain, mainly Asciidoctor as the compiler, that each time converted the compiled plain text output from Scrivener to desired outputs (Docbook -> Latex -> PDF, HTML, ...) and doing some o...
