Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

Don't forget that Scrivener 3 may also be a component of the bug. Some people are here saying it especially happens with projects that started with Scrivener 2 and were upgraded to 3. I noticed (and also made threads about it) that what on the same older hardware and same older iOS used to take 4 se...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

I think that's how the Dropbox API is written, and that's the one Scrivener relies on. Scrivener doesn't have it's own sync code, it uses the Dropbox API to let it take care of the syncing (if I understand correctly). The Dropbox API first makes a list of all the files, and that is what is taking ab...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

You don't even need to zip it after working on it. So I open a project from the Files App. It will ask me to copy to 'On My iPad'. If you already have the file downloaded in the Files App, this will happen super quick, even for 10GB projects. After working on it on the iPad, I open 2 Files-app windo...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

What would an iCloud account have to do with an app that only syncs through Dropbox?

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

I'll go via iCloud and it works good for me. Did the same. It works. Dropbox doesn’t. It’s not sync and that’s regrettable but I don’t need to install Dropbox on all my devices anymore and that’s also nice. This issue has been happening almost over 2 months now. But I am happy with my iCloud soluti...

I don’t want to sound rude, but do we know for sure this is half of the problem? And do we already know where the other half of the problem lies?

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

Apple just released 13.2.2 that should also fix the RAM issue. Not sure if this helps the Scrivener issue. I decided to now switch completely to my iCloud workaround and reconsider if there is a solution for Scrivener iOS, although I’ve been happy with my solution now.

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

Thanks for the message, Katherine. To add a data point, I have 12 projects in my Dropbox folder. My smallest 4.5 MB (template), my biggest 10.27 GB and a total space taken by the 12 projects of 20.24 GB.

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

For those of you, who want to take a look how that works, I recorded a short VDO on my iPad. Hi Thomas, thank you for your efforts. I've also been doing the whole copying through the Files app thing manually since it stopped working at the 3rd week of September. On one hand I think it's really anno...

Re: Unable to open any project on iPhone

I think it’s the Scrivener app but maybe with bold text turned on in the accessibility settings of the phone.

To the OP: I see you are running a VPN on your phone. Have you tried opening the projects with the VPN off?

Thanks indeed everyone for the tips. Sometimes I put an article in Reader Mode if it’s available to get a cleaner layout.

Re: Saving a web page as a pdf to Scrivener in iOS 13

I used to do it via the print command, and I find it was better because it already gave the PDF the right title coming into Scrivener. You go to the print dialog, then you pinch in on the preview of the page, and if you go to the share sheet from there, you can also send to Scrivener (unless this al...

Re: I have recently upgraded my MAC to Catalina and my Ipad/phone to IOS 13.1.3

Are you logged in with the same Apple ID for your store account on the iPad and the iPhone? They are the same version, if you bought it for the iPhone (with the same Apple ID of course), you should be able to download it for the iPad.
