Re: iCloud Sync

I am interesting in knowing in what sense Scrivener's database structure is so different from what I've described above. I couldn't find details about it in KB's post. Apologies if this specific question has been asked before. It has been answered. Only Dropbox has provided a sufficiently detailed ...

Re: Features on Scrivener iOS: Equal to Mac?

I do also think Scrivener iOS is ripe for a nice upgrade/update. I wouldn’t mind paying for it. But things like dropdown menu’s, multiwindow support, better navigation on iPadOS, etc. have been supported since iOS 13.0. Of course, I understand that it’s not easy to re-code your app, because I think ...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

I still do have a problem where the syncing will crash if I would change orientation during syncing of the iPad. I've had this issue for a long time before the other issues, and I think it's unrelated, so I made a different thread about it: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=54...

Dropbox sync crashes when iPad changes rotation during sync

I’ve had this in the Scrivener app for a long time, and it’s still not solved in the latest release, even if sync now doesn’t crash in normal circumstances anymore. But if you change the iPad rotation in the middle of a sync, you see it change direction but half of the screen black (like it changes ...

"Screenshots" = "Snapshots" :mrgreen:

Sorry, snapshots indeed, Thanks for correcting me. Highlighting in a PDF is also present in the Mac version but not in the iOS version, even now that we have PencilKit.

Re: Features on Scrivener iOS: Equal to Mac?

Screenshots is also a feature missing from the iOS version. I do like having an iOS version, that I can do to collect notes and research. But it does seem like after it's 2017 debut (which was great in many ways, and in some ways still is) it hasn't been very super actively developed further as a se...

Re: Send Scrivener project OUT of iOS to Files?

Files is the name of the app. Normally it should be downloaded by default, if not, you can find it on the App Store. Files by Apple. There you can access your file system (kind of) on the iPad, and also access your cloud storage.

Re: Send Scrivener project OUT of iOS to Files?

You're welcome. I used it between the release of iOS 13 and iOS 13.4, when Dropbox sync would crash, to only work with iCloud to store my projects. It actually worked very fast (even with multi-GB projects, the largest being a 10.5GB project) and very reliable. And I could leave Dropbox behind, whic...

Re: Send Scrivener project OUT of iOS to Files?

I did it often without zipping when Dropbox sync didn't work for a couple of months and it worked reliably.

In Files you can go to ON MY IPAD. There you have a Scrivener folder. There your project should be. You can drag and drop to another folder or copy.

Re: DropBox sync issue ... again?

On my iPhone 8 plus it works fine. I unfortunately can not test on my iPad Pro for the moment, because I just put it back to factory settings to bring it in for a repair - I just saw your message too late. (with the previous issue, it also worked on the iPhone 8 Plus but not on the iPad Pro) Did you...

Re: ARM

And/or if I may add to your question, how much of their developing focus has been going to Scrivener iOS. It hasn't seen big feature-or design updates since its release in 2017. The last year seems to have been important for the iPad: - a separate name and focus of Apple, called iPadOS. - advances i...

More love for the inspector in the UI on iPadOS

I don’t know if I’m the only one who wishes this, but sometimes I get annoyed that in the iPad version of Scrivener the UI (that is clean and of course made to work on smaller screens) doesn’t always allow for fast working with the Inspector. It’s never a permanent palette like you can have it on th...

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

Without a few more changes to iPadOS I doubt it means too much as there are inherent limitations to the OS. However, it certainly does make the OS and apps such as Scrivener easier to work with. I understand, but I do think that another class of apps is more viable now on iPad with proper mouse sup...
