Re: Lock In Place in 3.2.1

On one machine I have grey accent, but on another blue. The problem is the same on the machine with the blue accent. Activating Lock in Place reverses the visual cue of the active document when using dual editors, which I do 100% of the time. When I'm editing, which is most of the time, I need the v...

Re: Lock In Place in 3.2.1

Hi there o/
I added some extra visuals to demonstrate the problem on the thread you mention:
Hopefully someone at L&L will respond once the work-week kicks in.

Here, the left editor is locked and selected:

And here, the left editor is locked and the right editor selected:

I'm sure you can see the problem.

Re: 3.2 issues

The change in colour of the banner/header when using lock in place is barely discernible in the dark theme I’m using. It was fine before. Seems odd that it’s been changed. Is there a way to change its colour in preferences, because I can’t find it there? It was changed to track the system accent co...

Re: The current line I'm editing defaults to the screen centre

Just tested this and it's working so far.

You have no idea how much frustration this has caused over the years, so I'm delighted it's now behaving as I would expect. I'm still hesitant because I'm so used to waiting for the moment for it to... suddenly jump.

Re: 3.2 issues

It was changed to track the system accent colour. The main choice this can be problematic with is the grey option, in System Preferences: General—but I’d personally say not so much with Dark Mode as the effect is to make it considerably lighter. I've just tried adjusting the system accent colour, a...

Re: Download file for 3.1.5 is corrupt and will not install: Can you fix corrupted file?

Everything seems to be okay with the download on my end (I’m using 10.14, I don’t think that should make much difference). Although I had a copy from yesterday downloaded, I just tried again using a browser to double-check, and it unzips correctly. I renamed it to “Scrivener-315.app”, moved it to /...

Re: The current line I'm editing defaults to the screen centre

I believe the underlying bug is caused by the expected TextKit behaviour of scrolling the edited line to the centre when you type and the edited line is off screen. When the size of the text view changes because of an edit, Apple's code (I believe) checks to see if the edited line is outside the vi...

Re: The current line I'm editing defaults to the screen centre

That's strange, as I thought this was fixed a long time ago. The underlying bug is an arcane one in Apple's text system, but this is the first I've heard that anyone is still encountering it - it's fixed for me (I can reproduce it when removing the workaround code, but not otherwise). The attached ...

Re: The current line I'm editing defaults to the screen centre

OMG Hello from 11 years later - I'm encountering this EXACT SAME PROBLEM. Duplicated with view sizes. It gets stuck in typewriter mode (so distracting) and then I have to Close Project and Clear Interface Settings. When I reopen it's fine, but on 110% view it's stuck again. This is such a strange b...

Re: Does the "Hero's Journey" Writing Approach Apply to Military Techno-Thriller / Historical Novels?

Lots of thoughts on structure here. I'll just leave Philip Pullman's contrarian view on the matter: Structure is a superficial feature of narrative. You can change it whenever you like. What's truly fundamental is tone. You do need a plan, but the best sequence is – write first, then plan. Then edit...

Re: Scrivener crashes when entering/leaving full screen

I'd appreciate an acknowledgement of this bug. In case it isn't clear – because I spent the time to create a minimum case failure – this is a general failure when leaving full screen with Scrivenings in the active editor. I'm impacted by this crash approximately ten times a day, because of the inabi...
