Re: NiaD X

Thank you Rog, for letting me redeem myself a bit from the SNAFUs from 2 previous NIADs as well as the extraordinary work you put into each of these events.

Mike.

Re: NiaD X

Waoohhh. Done and sent. :D :D This was an experience !. I wish i had another 24 hours to write on. I had so many ideas and the time seemed so short. Myself as well....I wanted to add another scene in a bar, where we get to see a different side of the 'bad guys' in the Comptroller's office, b...

Re: NiaD X

I'm sitting at the laptop with a big pot of coffee, listening to probably my favourite of all the NiaD playlists I've made and bashing out the details of the plot. I have to say, I'm pretty excited about this year's book! :D Thanks so much for doing this yet again, Roger...Looking forward to tomorr...

Re: NiaD X

I'd love to do this one more time. Booking off the time, so I don't get called in at the last minute, like the last time and marking it on my calendar so I don't get the days mixed up like the ...other..last time. I loved doing it and want to redeem myself for the times I fornicated the canine, so t...

Re: When to quit...?!

Advice I got from an author friend: always try to finish a draft. Even if it's not a good draft, the habit and mindset of "first finish the draft, THEN decide whether it's worth continuing" is better practice for the future. Well, it's great advice....Obviously, I know I should finish it....

Re: When to quit...?!

I'm actually wrestling with this now....I have a WiP that's been about 80% done for several years now...I know what I have to do to finish it ( At least I think I do.) but it keeps getting put off and off. I have to wonder now if it just needs to be thought of as great practice for the next bunch of...

Re: Live, write on a train....

When we first emigrated to Canada, my father decided that we should see the country we had moved to. So, we landed in Halifax, on the Atlantic ocean and boarded a train to Toronto, roughly a day and bit's travel to the west. From there we took a train non-stop to Vancouver, where we were to live......

Re: Where should writers live?

Weird question. I you're a writer you live in the writer's block. :) I hear that's a dead end street. Some local wag dubbed the area around McBurney Park "The Writer's Block" because of the number of prominent local writers who live near there. The park itself is fodder for stories and in...

Re: Who's in for Nano 2015?

Set it in your local neighbourhood, with various locals gradually succumbing to the zombie plague ("Oh no! There goes the greengrocer! Where will I get the eggplants for my moussaka?). You could even challenge yourself by incorporating an event from each day into the novel. Worst case scenario...
