Re: Mac Sharing with PC on Dropbox?

There's a lot left un-said here, so let me lay out a few things that you have to consider/check with your writing partner: 1. What versions are you both using? Scrivener 3 for Mac is not compatible with Scrivener 1 for Windows (though Mac S3 can export a copy of your project into a compatible format...

Re: BINDER FONT COLOUR

Sorry, but no. The text in the titles is not "rich text"; it's stored as plain text, so the color of binder titles is the same for all titles. If you're trying to visually track point of view for each document/folder, you can use the Label metadata, and then the menu View->Use Label Color ...

Re: Question about Scrivener 3 and 1

My question is that the mac version has backgrounds that you can write on top of. I heard that the windows version was supposed to be getting the same but now with Scrivener 3 on the way. I want to know if this is ever going to happen with V1 or if windows users are getting it in V3? Are you maybe ...

Re: Getting Title Numbering to Recognise Document Structure on Compile

Keith, I was going to chime in earlier, but when I loaded up the Interactive Tutorial, and brought up compile, there didn't seem to be a compile format that contained that kind of document format. I saw 3 different Outline formats that contained hierarchical numbering in the document formats (which ...

Re: How to set words target for a Folder??

Total Target is a sum of that folder/document and all sub-document targets, and so Scrivener can't decide how to assign portions of that target to the folder and/or its sub-documents. You need to edit the folder's own target, or set targets each sub-document and for the folder itself (if you are exp...

Re: Disappointed in "Convert Multimarkdown to Rich Text" Compile option

Of course... I think I knew all of that at one time. Now I understand the "convert" part of your original post. Excuse me while I go lie on the floor for a while and think about what I've done.

Re: Disappointed in "Convert Multimarkdown to Rich Text" Compile option

So... I feel like I should know how to do this, but I'm having trouble easily tracking the technique down. How does one get the option to compile to RTF from MMD? I'm only seeing MMD to PDF, HTML, LaTeX, ODT and FODT. Since I'm able to get the double-spaced paragraphs thing working for LaTeX, I feel...

Re: Just finished the Survey--How about Wizards??

Your example looks just like a document template; just a starting point for new documents in the binder, with lines for Circuit Number, etc... It looks very similar to the example "Character Sketch" document template included in the novel project template. Is your suggestion that they dis...

Re: "The Scrivener Difference!" - BOOK

Have you thought about writing a book for your application? :D :D :D :D They have! The manual... Where they failed miserably. I'd rather read Finnegans Wake backwards. "Un-put-down-able!" "A tour de force!" "In this, the 3.1.4.1-01th installment in the 'Scrivener Manual' (M...

Re: Disappointed in "Convert Multimarkdown to Rich Text" Compile option

I must double-space my paragraphs So, I don't know if this helps in the original scenario, but I've been using custom styles to output escaped LaTeX code for quite a while now. I've transitioned to styling everything except for body text (including numbered / bulleted lists). To make my standard pa...

Re: Search

In project search, there's the loupe icon. Click it, and there will be an option for "whole words" or similar. In the edit->search options that produce a pop-up window to input your search terms, there should be a similar option there.

Are you using any kind of cloud service with your files? iCloud Desktop & Documents sync is known to be a problem, for instance.

Re: Folders in collections

Collections aren't hierarchical, notably because adjacent documents in a collection could be in very different parts of the binder. As such, a collection treats folders just like any other file, as does Scrivener. In fact, folders in Scrivener are only treated differently in two parts of Scrivener (...

Re: Scrivener 3, Scrivener for iPad, and changes at apple.

It does raise some more questions. Will license's carry over? Or will there be an upgrade/switch over path? Either way, that decision, for me personally, will be a couple of years out as my iMac is still trudging along just fine. I don't speak for the company, but I've been through the Motorola -> ...
