Re: Google Drive - Scrivener 3 for Win

You might want to bookmark the main page here to check in if the advisability of various syncing technologies changes over time: https://scrivener.tenderapp.com/help/kb/cloud-syncing/using-scrivener-with-cloud-sync-services Also, for your question specifically, here is why they recommend against GD:...

Re: DOUBLE SPACE FUNCTION

Hello friends! Being able to space out my sentences on screen greatly helps me separate my sentential arguments in a paragraph at an eye glance—doubly important in this age of laptops where screens are smaller. Not that this is a replacement for what you want, but are you aware of the View->Text Ed...

Re: What is the best way to save and back up with Scrivener?

Thanks for your comprehensive answer rdale. I mentioned the zipped backups because I read several post that other cloud save services like Apple iCloud can corrupt files, also there is a comment on the link I posted above the first commenter PJ says "it's not so straight-forward to recover SCR...

Re: What is the best way to save and back up with Scrivener?

Hi, I'm new to Scrivener. I bought it to work on my first movie script but am now using it to organise and write a dissertation! It's important that I don't lose my work. As I understand it there isn't a cloud save feature that is reliable, what there is is a local save and DropBox backup. I want t...

Re: Seeking Scrivener support?

Have you downloaded the most recent version of Scrivener? They had to change their license authentication service because the old one shut up shop. It could be that you downloaded a trial version from before that update was pushed. Also, no need to worry about losing your work; it's all stored on yo...

Re: Question about an error I can't figure out.

Is it a separator for that level of folder/document in the binder? Maybe something that comes after the end of a "scene document", or before a "chapter folder" in your compile settings?

Make <$include:Binder Title> create link to "Binder Title" document in Scrivener

When reading a text that uses the <$include> feature, which is also a Scrivener link to the document I want to include, I have to click on the link to verify which text I'm <$include>-ing. The alternate syntax doesn't work with links, the last time I tried, but it does give me the name of the docume...

Re: Best way to add links (URLs) for scenes/chapters?

For reference: Open the inspector and click on the document bookmarks pane. Add an external bookmark, and paste in the URL to the image/web page. Alternately, download just the image and drag it into your project's Research folder, and bookmark the image so that it's always associated with that chap...

Re: Do I have to uninstall Beta 19 (Win64) before installing Beta 20?

When an update comes out before the beta expires, you get a prompt asking if you want to upgrade, right? If that's how you're getting newer betas, I'd suggest that you use that functionality to help test the update process--after all, that's part of what's going into the final release, and it has to...

Re: Changing defaults and converting existing document

On the current release of Scriv for Windows (version 1.x), it's Tools->options->Editor. Adjust the sample text in that window as you want all new documents to look (paragraph spacing, indentation, font face, font size, etc...). Once you have it the way you want, select one or more documents in the b...

Re: License Key doesn't work for Scrivener 2.6

Will version 2.9 not work for your system? It works for all Intel-based macs from version 10.9 through 10.12, and should accept your license key (or it may not require one anymore, due to a recent change in which company handles their license verifications). https://www.literatureandlatte.com/legacy...

Create new documents from the Project Bookmarks inspector pane

If I set the "default new bookmarks folder" option in the project settings, I'd like for there to be a + sign icon or a "create new document" option in the inspector pane for project bookmarks. It would immediately add that file to the chosen "default new bookmarks folder&qu...

Re: Scrivener Templates location

I'm not sure where they're stored, but the built-in templates (and the Scrivener manual pdf plus the Interactive Tutorial project) are delivered as part of the installation bundle. Presumably, they're in the install folder somewhere, though they may be somewhat hidden to avoid people fiddling with t...

Re: How do I use Scrivener 3 with two authors

Or, in other words, there really is no sane way to do this. Because, if every time I needed to send a document to my writing partner I had to go through that kind of process... I'd be insane. Amazing product. Unless there are two authors. Write out any set of actions one must take to accomplish som...
