Re: I have recently upgraded my MAC to Catalina and my Ipad/phone to IOS 13.1.3

I'm not with Lit & Lat, but are you able to install other apps onto your ipad that you paid for and use on your phone? I found this article that helps trouble-shoot issues that have to do with getting apps installed for the same apple id... maybe it will help. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2...

Re: Passive Verbs?

I've observed that concepts like, "Never use adverbs!" and "Never write in passive voice!" are for students who need to learn lessons that they won't unless given strict guidelines, where infractions against those guidelines risks a reduced grade. They're good exercises, but as w...

Re: Moving / importing from old mindmap service to scapple

You can import some mind map formats into Scrivener, which is hierarchical though. And you can drag note cards between Scrivener and Scapple. Maybe try doing that with a blank Scrivener project and a blank Scapple project, and see how it goes?

Re: Trouble upgrading to 3.1.4

Yes, it works great on Mojave. I'm using it on my Mac (still on Mojave for the foreseeable future), and haven't seen any issues.

If you can't get the updater to work, quit scrivener and download from the website: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener/download

Re: How to collapse chapter titles, and move any section to another place in the doc

To be clear, going by the title of your post, there is no "collapse" of chapters or paragraphs the way that Word does it. If you find that you move paragraphs around a lot, and may change your mind periodically, you may as well get used to splitting up your chapter around any paragraphs yo...

Re: Feedback wanted: Integration with Aeon Timeline

Aeon Timeline does the integration, and it uses custom metadata to store dates and other synchronized information. You should be able to go to outline mode to add those dates as columns.

They are in the list, but you may have to scroll the drop-down list to get to that combination. You're looking for "Win + iOS", by the way.

Re: Adaptation to small screen for compilation (beta 25)

I agree it's better for an application to be responsive to the screen size, but you can resize from the top, then drag the window up to reveal the bottom. My compile window appears to be capable of being shorter than yours--you're not having the issue where it can't be resized at all, are you?

Re: How to count the word count of specific documents?

I’m using Scrivener on Windows I have my status set to “Mac” because I primarily use an iPhone There is an option on your profile settings for "Win + iOS" which is far more accurate than "Mac", since it's different from both. The tick-mark you're looking for is in the inspector....

Re: Questions about sub-documents and folder text

One use-case for folders is a novel's chapter heading. By using a folder, you can distinguish between the beginning of a chapter and the beginning of a new scene within that chapter. During compile, the chapter folder would get an automatic "CHAPTER 10: [folder title]" and then formatting ...

Re: Scrivenings questions

I haven't explored this feature in the Windows beta, but can you use the "Full Screen" mode (not to be confused with the Composition mode) and have the Inspector slide into view when you move your mouse to the right edge of the screen? This opens up the inspector's usefulness on smaller sc...

Play/Pause media in copyholder

For the first time ever, I have a media file that I want to play and pause from within Scrivener, so I can take careful notes, but I've immediately bumped up against a few limitations that I didn't expect. Is it possible to put a media file in a copyholder and have it respond to the play/pause short...

Re: Scrivenings questions

Okay, sorry. I assumed the copy/paste from Scrivener to Word was because you were avoiding the compile functionality of Scrivener, which can be quite flexible in what gets compiled. I want to change the font settings for Scrivenings, respectively Composition mode ONLY. If that isn't possible (and th...

Re: Scrivenings questions

For getting things into word, you should start learning how to compile your project into a single word document. The tutorial (under Help) is a project that walks you through Scrivener at your own pace, and will cover compile (including notes on the state of the compile features in the beta). The na...
