Re: Question on Usability / Reliability of the Beta

Regarding recovering data from a crashed or corrupted Scrivener install: (Although actually sorting all those RTF files back into a book would be neither quick nor easy.) I don't think it would be hard (open the scrivx file as reference, and then look up each directory and grab the files out of it, ...

Re: [B43] [Bug??] Appearance of Index Cards.

The synopsis text has a top/bottom/left/right margin. Because of this the first line will always be taller. The line spacing depends on the font being used. The line spacing is always 1x. Hate to argue here, but the first line is NEVER the same as the rest of the lines in the index cards , no matte...

Re: [B43] [Bug??] Appearance of Index Cards.

This is probably best described with a screenshot, as it might depend on many user options. Heh. Okay. The normal line height varies with the font selected for the cards, but the change in height seems to be consistent. Right now, i have the cards at 4x6". The size of the card does not change ...

[B43] [Bug??] Appearance of Index Cards.

I notice that the first text line below the Title line in each index card is shorter in line height than the rest. Is this intentional? The Synopsis is the reverse; there, the first text line below the Title line has more line height available than the other lines.

If you wait like 10 secs, does it let you again? This has been reported before, and it may be a document loading issue.

Re: Line Break without new line

I am struggling to find a way, to have Scrivener export a md file and have a Line Break just be a new line. Scrivener always adds an empty line in between. I know this is required for new paragraphs, but how can tell it to just create a new line? Shift-return instead of return? Adds a line break in...

Re: Scrivener 2.9.42: Removing Carriage Returns (CR's) [Windows 3 Beta #218

I just tried finding CR or LF characters in Scrivener, or EOLs, and that doesn't work. I can find entire paragraphs, using ^.*$ , but search for \r or \n returns nothing. Bug. My suggestion is to use an external text editor such as Notepad++, Atom, Sublime, jedit, or something similar, to edit those...

Re: Footnotes and Endnotes - a bug?

I'm sure it's a bug -- but it might not be a Scrivener bug. I believe they're using a 3rd-party solution to export to Word format, and it might not be able to export endnotes. Not sure why it wouldn't, and since it works on PDFs, it should work in other formats as well, I would think. Glad you found...

Re: Footnotes and Endnotes - a bug?

I have been trying to convert footnotes to endnotes through the Compile (to Word) by choosing Export inspector footnotes as endnotes to no avail. Scrivener always exports as footnotes. My questions are: - Is this a bug or am I missing something? - In case it is, how can I go around it? Thanks. P.S....

Re: Bug - Single quote mark facing wrong way after double quote mark

This probably has to do with the logic being used by the smart quote algorithm to decide which way to type the smart quote. Unfortunately, the logic surrounding it isn't so great (others have complained about it before). I can't think of any circumstance where I would want left double quote followed...

Re: Way to increase the amount of usable screen real estate?

Yes, I have done that. My screenshots show the effect of all row spacing set to zero (the lowest it can go). Would be nice if it could go negative, or if there was some other way to do this. As it stands, this is a retrograde step and negates any benefit to me in upgrading! A few things -- ⋅&n...

Re: Everything opens in Corkboard view

Everything I open, opens in the corkboard view - everything. I did make sure I had the right option selected under the View tab. Even individual documents? That sounds strange. Documents should default to document view. Can you change the mode for a particular folder or document? Does it stay chang...

BUG B41: tabs in ruler are offset from where you set them

I'm blissfully moving along, and I notice that where I had a center tab set was NOT where the text was centered. So I figured, well, we'll just move it a little... Grabbed a couple of lines, placed a center tab at 3", and it slid itself to 2". Set the tab to 2.72" and the tab showed u...

Re: Bug: Compile Margin Does Not Save

It's changing the margin settings on its own. I tried changing 6x9 paperback (saved as a new setting) with 0.875" margins, to 5x8 with the same margins. Reopen the file, and it says the margins are 0.8, 0.8,0.8, and 0.9.
