Re: Major Data Loss in 2.9.9.10 Beta

I can't say I've ever had that problem, but it sounds as though Scrivener installed a little screwy. Second possibility: corrupt project. My suggestion about the later possibility: Copy everything in the binder and copy it to a brand new project of the same kind. Save it, exit Scrivener, restart Scr...

Re: Funny problem with comments in sections containing words in italics

Not seeing that, but I am seeing blue underlines throughout the text that is commented. The editor text that is linked to the comment will appear as a link, by default blue and underlined. You can change how links are displayed under File > Options > Appearance: Textual Marks. Is that what you're r...

Re: Bug: "Replace All" with "whole word" replaces partial words

Verified. Whole word replaces part of a word.

Worse; I deliberately selected a sentence instead of the whole document, and it replaced throughout the document.

Re: RC10 (2.9.9.10) - A bug of restore saved settings of the Layout Manager in the Binder.

Let me slighly rephrase this. While the settings SEEM to be set, they do not work on loading a layout . In particular, once I've loaded a layout that includes "use label color as background color in binder" (or any of the "label color in binder" series of settings), that setting ...

Re: RC10 (2.9.9.10) - Main toolbar bug.

Confirmed (RC10, Hi-DPI). Had to make the Scrivener window incredibly narrow to reproduce it, however (much narrower than if it were showing full-screen on the recommended minimum resolution). Also reproduced this one. I think this might display this way on a small Windows tablet. It was mighty dar...

Re: RC10: Problem with pdf paperback output

After some further checking, I was able to work around the problem. I copied Paperback (5.06" x 7.81") and updated the paper and margin sizes to match Paperback (6" x 9") - however the header still didn't render. The difference appeared to be the header/footer margin sizes: Pape...

Re: Question about timing of updates to the Beta

Katherine, thank you for the helpful guidance about backing up the settings. I didn't know that was possible, nor do I know how to do it at the moment, but I suppose I can figure it out. If the cycle of monthly updates to the beta is to continue into the future (and I know no one really knows, so l...

Re: Update prompts to restart

I just ran the updater through Linux/Wine, and Windows native, and I didn't get a restart prompt with either. So I'd agree with devinganger; could be a peculiarity of your setup that triggered an unnecessary prompt? I got a restart prompt on install after changing my preferences. I'd killed the old...

Which version are you using? HiDPI or Normal? I'm using the normal version, and Ctrl_shift+0 brings up the scratch pad without crashing.

Re: Different windows display different word counts

I may be messing up something simple here, but I just want to let you know I checked all the probable culprits, and found nothing that could be causing this discrepancy. I'm getting different total word counts, depending on where I look. The first picture gives me 119.444, while the second says 120...

Re: Export Files - Oddity

Verified the 1st. Scrivener treats a period as an end to the filename. So, if I have a scene or chapter named "57. Karma is a bit challenging", and I export files for it alone and check the "number files" option, the output will be "1 57.rtf".

Re: Delete words from Personal Word list?

Just go to you main hard drive (usually C:\ ) to Users\ username \AppData\Local\LiteratureAndLatte\Scrivener and you should be able to find a file called wordlists.ini which has the actual list, comma separated, that you should be able to edit, but I'd make a copy first before trying it. I haven't ...

Re: Using 3 beta in production situation?

Right now, I'm trying to sort this process: Scrivener > DOCX > Jutoh. The issue seems to be that Scrivener doesn't actually generate an H1, H2, H3 tag on compile and that's what Jutoh keys on to build the ToC. I need to figure that out if that's possible to be figured out. It can. Either with the s...

Re: How to open a project saved in Scrivener 3.0 with the old Scrivener?

I've been using the Scrivener 3.0 for a while. As I understand after September 15th it will stop working. So, I bought an old version but now I can't open project saved with Scrivener 3.0. How to do it? As explained, you can't. However, if you're really worried about L&L missing the deadline fo...
