Front/Back Matter with Current Selection in Compile

Hello, I have a project for my dissertation, but in the process of writing that, I’ll also write some shorter pieces, like summaries or thematically adjacent papers. I’m also using the Front/Back Matter function for my LaTeX-Code. I don’t actually want a separate Scrivener project for all those litt...

Re: Scrivener 3.0.3 and MMD to LaTeX Lists

I asked Fletcher about getting a solution for this and he said he’ll think about it. In the meantime I compiled my own version of MMD that has the old behavior. Thanks for your help! I’ll think about it some more, when I’m finished with my thesis.

Re: Scrivener 3.0.3 and MMD to LaTeX Lists

That’s how it’s done in the LaTeX template, right? In my case, this might not work, though. Two reasons: (1) I don’t use consistent labels. That’s why I use them. It’s actually more like a definition list. I use lots of example sentences in my master thesis in philosophy of language. So I need to be...

Re: Scrivener 3.0.3 and MMD to LaTeX Lists

Fletcher answered regarding this, too. The behavior with MMD5 was unintentional and it was corrected in MMD6.

I guess I’ll need to just use raw LaTeX for labeled lists.

Re: Scrivener 3.0.3 and MMD Citations

Fletcher Penny just answered on GitHub. The solution is easy. The bibtex metadata needs to be configured in the metadata pane when editing the format,

Key: bibtex
Value: bibtex

Then citations work as expected.

Re: Scrivener 3.0.3 and MMD to LaTeX Lists

Thank you very much. Since my current project is my master thesis that I want to finish next week, I took the safe route and went, for the time being, back to 3.0.2. I haven’t anticipated so much change in MMD6 and thought the way raw LaTeX is handled would be the biggest outward facing change. I gu...

Scrivener 3.0.3 and MMD to LaTeX Lists

Hello, after updating to Scrivener 3.0.3, unnumbered list items written in MMD are rendered as ”\item{}” instead of just “\item”. Problem is, that interferes with item labels. Where I used “- [label] Text” to get ”\item [label] Text”, I now get “\item{} [label] Text”. But this is not proper LaTeX co...

Re: Markdown/Multi Markdown Newbie Questions

If you are using MMD, you can’t use escaped characters as bullet points. It will then work with tabs or 4 spaces.

The bullet points are usually rendered as a dot, though. I know of no way to use other symbols, short of custom CSS or using LaTeX.

Scrivener 3.0.3 and MMD Citations

Hello! After the update to 3.0.3, my MMD citations are rendered in lowercase in LaTeX. For example, [10][#Author_2018] used to become ~\citep[10]{Author_2018}, but now becomes ~\citep[10]{author_2018}. For BibTeX, those are different cite keys, rendering my whole BibTeX-Library useless. I understand...

Re: ⌥⌘5 – What happens?

Thanks a lot! But it was merely a minor nuisance. No need to lose sleep over. I still appreciate it, though.

Re: ⌥⌘5 – What happens?

Thanks, JoRo! It actually worked. I re-assigned the Backwards in Document History command to ctrl-alt-5, making room for cmd-5. But you are right, the German layout comes first. For example, there is another shortcut, for going backwards in the other editor, alt-cmd-[. This is a shortcut that is imp...

⌥⌘5 – What happens?

I recently assigned my Styles to the Style-Shortcuts, but the Shortcut ⌥⌘5 does not work. Instead, the selection in the Binder jumps around, seemingly at random. Has this shortcut been assigned twice? I don’t have it assigned in the System Preferences and I found no such shortcut in the manual. EDIT...

Re: Hide Previews of Content

In either macOS or iOS, enter a carriage return in the opening synopsis field. Better? As a workaround, yes. The preview text is always a light grey as opposed to the black that is used for cards that have content, so it should be easy to distinguish this way. Well, yes. On my iPad, that kind of wo...
