Re: Scrivener doesn't seem to be able to handle large tables very well, anything I can do?

I'm using the Mac version; but yes, in my modest opinion table handling is one of the weakest features of this most excellent application. But I have no doubts this will be addressed in a future version.

Re: Would like some advice/opinions on a use of comments/footnotes

I can confirm Katherine's words: a single document of similar length would inevitably have serious performance issues. I'm working on a book that presently counts some 500.000 words in the main text, and some 100.000 in the notes. It is (of course, I would say) divided into many folders, each of whi...

Re: Can't export file without footnotes

Very simple: in "Compile" activate the option "Remove footnotes", and you won't see any footnotes.

Scrivener on a small iPhone

I have been a daily user of Scrivener since the times of Scrivener Gold; I couldn't imagine my life without Scrivener anymore. I also have an iPhone, but I didn't purchase the iOS version as yet. The reason is that in my opinion a compact iPhone like mine (7, with a 4.7" screen) is simply too s...

Problem with F-keys as shortcuts

I am using some of the F-keys as shortcuts for font faces: for instance, F3 for "Italic", and F4 for "Bold". These shortcuts figure of course under System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > App Shortcuts: (Scrivener) Bold – F4, Italic – F3. But in the pull down menu, these shor...

Re: Scrivener 3.1 is going to be incredible!

Among the countless improvements of an already excellent application this new version brings us, is the fact that keyboard shortcuts are now shown in the styles panel. Would it be an idea to show them also in the format bar?

Did you try, in Scrivener 3, File > Import > Scrivener Project?

Re: Scrivener version of User Manual

Thanks for your answer, Amber. No hurry at all, but the PDF-version of the manual looks great, and I would like to study its Scrivener > MMD > LaTeX genesis, in order to learn from it. And I'm sure it would be a very instructive case for all who, like me, would like to publish complex texts in a sim...

Scrivener version of User Manual

Elsewhere on this site we are kindly invited to "download our manuals in PDF and Scrivener formats". But where is Scrivener's user manual in the Scrivener format? I see only the PDF version.

"Scapple … has not been forgotten! Scrivener has taken a front seat for a long time, but once Scrivener 3 is out, we intend to spend some quality time with our Scapple code."

Re: Best way to convert PDF to RTF

Thanks all for your answers! @ brookter: I had forgotten Devonthink also has this feature; and it works pretty well, I must say. @ Amber: I had never seen this option in Scrivener; thanks for making me aware of it. @ lucadj: I have the latest version of MS Word for Mac, but I can't find this option ...
