For me this would be very helpful to launch two instances of Scrivener. For example if you are comparing things like Compile settings between two projects. You cannot launch Compile from two projects at the same time.

How do you lock one window and view another chapter in other window?

Using ver 3 Beta, how do you lock one Chapter in one window and view other chapters in the other window? If I spit the editor window such that I have the text from one chapter in the left window, I want to be able to use the right window and view other chapters? I'm guessing that this is "Lock ...

Re: File corruption with latest version

No I don't think so. This is a novel I'm working on and it duplicated a number of chapters. I'm now trying to figure out if the original chapters are intact and correct. I've written several stories with Scrivener and never saw this before. I certainly could have pressed Ctrl-D on one chapter but no...

File corruption with latest version

I think I'm having file corruption on the current version. What happens is that chapters with the underlying files are duplicated with a "-1" after the chapter name. I've never seen this before the current update which expires at the end of May (if I remember correctly). I'm keeping the fi...

Re: Location of Table of Contents

That solved my problem by manually creating a TOC chapter and using the Edit | Copy Special (or something like that) to create the linked entries. The only problem is that you have to manually delete the page number references for an eBook. It would be nice if there was an option to just include the...

Re: Is it Possible to Automate Compiler for Different Scenarios

Thanks rDale,

I'll give that a try. I wasn't sure if other people had this question or not, but thought it would be nice if you could setup the fore and back matter to be linked to a single switch for the desired destination.

Is it Possible to Automate Compiler for Different Scenarios

If you publish a story to different publishers is there a way to configure the Compiler to make all the necessary changes? If you have a set of front matter and back matter for multiple publishers, is there a way to configure the compiler to select the appropriate set of front matter and back matter...

Re: Buying ProWritingAid? Read this first.

I have PWA but actually find it easier to use with Grammarly. I just open a blank document in Word then copy and paste the chapter from Scrivener to Word. After checking it with Grammarly, I copy and paste it back into Scrivener. The only issue I've seen is to delete the Scrivener document before pa...

Re: Dropbox & backup location

What I've found in use is that the lock file that Scrivener opens in DropBox takes a minute or so to update when you close Scrivener. If you save/close Scrivener then check DropBox to be sure it is up to date then close your laptop, the lock file is not immediately removed. This causes Scrivener to ...

Support for Dual Monitors

It would be nice if Scrivener would support dual monitors such that you could have multiple document windows open at the same time. I realize that you can have multiple windows open but that just chops up your working window into a number of little windows.

Re: Scrivener iOS syncing via Dropbox continues to crash the app

I use DropBox and Scrivener on both PC Windows 10 Pro and MacBook Air running the latest version (14.15.2?) and have experienced no problems with either DropBox or Scrivener. I move back and forth between operating systems seamlessly. My desktop is Win10 and I use interchangeably my MBA and Lenovo L...

Re: Buying ProWritingAid? Read this first.

I've got ProWritingAid myself and find it cumbersome to work with when compared against Grammarly. I'd suggest that more people write to Grammarly and suggest that they support Scrivener. The squeaky wheel always gets the grease.

Re: Dropbox & backup location

I normally store my document files in DropBox. My question is this: If I use a MacBook and a Windows 10 Pro PC, can I work on the same project without doing anything special? I write a lot when I'm away from my desktop and use DropBox to access my files. With DropBox and Word, the switch is seamless...
