Compile: modifying appearance of footnotes and footnote marker

I'm using a lot of inspector footnotes, which work as expected and are a great feature. However, I am struggling with three things when doing Compile to PDF. I know these must be basics but after spending hours trying to find the solution by myself I must admit I need some help. 1. In the main text,...

character styles in inspector footnotes

I really like the new styles feature in Scrivener 3.

However, I fail to apply a character style to text in inspector footnotes – when I click there, the styles in the Styles Panel are greyed out.

Surely styles can be applied to text in footnotes as well?

QuickReference panel: Comments/Footnotes on the right

When working in a QuickReference panel, is it possible to have its Comments/Footnotes pane shown on the right margin (rather than at the bottom of the screen)?

Re: Prevent edits resetting to middle of screen

Typewriter Scrolling is not activated here, and yet when in Composition Mode, Scrivener behaves as if TS were activated. Is this a bug, or is there a setting that I am missing?

window popping up for no apparent reason

This has never happened before, but now, whenever I click Enter twice to add an empty paragraph, a window pops up. How can I change this behaviour?

Re: PDF files in the Binder

Thanks! I've now discovered the section "10.1.3 Linking to Research Material" in the Manual, which is of great help.

However, linking to research material this way seems to work only if the file is not large (> 100 MB), otherwise editor window turning white.

PDF files in the Binder

If I drag and drop a PDF file from the Finder into the Binder, the size of the Scrivener project file increases by the amount of the file size dragged and dropped into it. Depending on the size and number of PDF files dragged and dropped, the project file may increase drastically. Is there a way to ...

a file added to the Binder

I have added quite a few PDF files into the Binder, so when I wanted to back up my project to an external disk I realised it has become too big. Am I right in assuming that Scrivener produces a copy of the original file when it adds it to the Binder? If so, how would you suggest to deal with the res...
