Re: Recent Mac OS Catalina update stops toggling bold/unbold when using Command + b

I also have this issue.

Command + b doesn't work to bold or unbold text

Command + i works to make text italic, but then won't un-italic it

Command + u works correctly to underline and to remove underline

Re: Syncing Scrivener on iOS takes a long time

Regrettably I have not noticed any speed improvements with syncing.

I've also upgraded to iOS 12 and Mojave, with no difference.

Re: Formatting issues - chapters are coming out differently

Thanks - I've done some more tests and it seems to be from a style I've created called "Novel" which gives me space between paragraphs while typing. If I apply this style in iOS (because iOS never seems to respect my preference to have space between paragraphs when creating new documents) ...

Re: Creating PDF for Ingram Spark

Oh, I can help with this! I manage to spit out a compliant pdf using the Zamzar online converter. No other online converter worked, nor did producing it from Scrivener, nor through Apple's print-to-pdf or save-as-pdf or anything else. I exported from Scrivener into Word, then fixed up the formatting...

Formatting issues - chapters are coming out differently

I have an issue with Scrivener where my chapters/sections are not formatting correctly. Some are overriding the settings in my Compile. I've gone and had a look at the actual .rtf files in the .scriv, and it seems the problem chapters have this code on them: <$Scr_Ps::0> Whereas the chapters that ar...

iOS keeps changing formatting

I'll have a Scriv that I've set up on my Desktop. The documents within it are all set to have an extra line break at the end of paragraphs. However, when I start adding to a document in iOS, eg a half-written scene, the formatting reverts to single/no extra line breaks - within the same document/tex...

Re: Syncing Scrivener on iOS takes a long time

My experience and tests have always suggested that individual project size isn't the issue, but the total number of projects is. What I want to understand is when Scrivener "checks" the "folder" with DropBox, is it checking every single thing in the Scrivs folder - eg all the pro...

Re: Syncing Scrivener on iOS takes a long time

Or buy a Macbook and run Scrivener on it. That would eliminate all problems. I run Scrivener on an iPad and a MBP - the point is that I am mobile/on the go/away from my desk most of the time. The beauty of iOS is that I can simply carry my iPad around and work fully productively on that. Which I ca...

Of course, but 1. it previously worked fine having all those projects in there, and 2. I actually need most of those projects!

Re: Any plans to move to iCloud sync?

it's all separate files in the Finder file system, which means that even if all hell break lose and the project is severely corrupted, the text you have written will most likely be possible to salvage as it is only a lot of .rtf files. This actually saved my bacon once, the one time I had the weird...

Re: Workable without wifi?

By WiFi do you mean any wireless connectivity/internet connection? If so then yes, it's absolutely usable. It's a proper app, not an online app (like Google Docs or something). Just make sure you do sync up (if you're using a mobile device) before reopening on desktop when you're back home. It's not...

Re: Syncing Scrivener on iOS takes a long time

Are we certain that Scrivener isn't checking through every file in every folder/every .scriv, rather than the single .scriv project it needs to update? Because this is what it feels like it's doing. Why would it do that in your case and not for everyone else? The only way to find out exactly why th...

Re: Syncing Scrivener on iOS takes a long time

I also noticed that syncing on my iPhone, even if it's only a couple of kilobyte, takes about 3 minutes on my iPhone 8 Plus (it's the Downloading File List that takes so long. The syncing itself happens just as quickly as ever) and on my older iPad Air it can take up to 10 minutes sometimes. Exactl...

Re: Syncing Scrivener on iOS takes a long time

The only response then was that they are seeing this with some people who had OR a lot of projects, OR big projects, and that the solution was fewer or less big projects. And this makes perfect sense if you are updating all those projects. But if you have a folder full of large projects, and only o...
