Re: Keywords For Multiple Projects

Hi Windflower, (I like your user image, by the way. :) ) I would like to use the same set of keywords for multiple projects. I'm in the process of writing my second book, and I realized that I need to use the same set of keywords from my first book. I'd like to import them some way. It's surprisingl...

Re: Windows Users: Do you recommend Scrivener?

There is no easy/obvious way to use a more complete dictionary, nor a specialized dictionary with Scrivener. See this post for how to replace Windows Scrivener's default spellcheck dictionary with one of your own: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=336540#p336540 It may not be...

Actually, the suggestion was to keep a minimum of 25 backups. But perhaps you are doing thorough backups some other way and you don't require Scrivener's backup sytem. And it's your work, only you know what it's worth.

Re: Scrivener 3 Creating Multiple Backups

I recently moved to the new version and now every time I look at the Scrivener files in my file explorer there are dozens of backups! I love the backup system but instead of overwriting as it used to (right?) it creates a new one, backup1, backup2 - 5 for my current file. How can I stop this. To re...

No, I don’t see a setting in v1.9 either.

Re: Adding "lines" to the notes area?

Interesting. I can see an indirect option to add lines to the Inspector's Synopsis (File > Options > Appearance > Index Cards > Show text lines). But I don't see any way in Windows Scrivener v3 to add lines to the Notes. Hopefully someone wiser than me will show up with a solution. Where did ...

Re: Line Spacing missing from Project Ssettings

There should be a little double-chevron icon to the right of the "A" icon showing that there is more not visible, and I'm not sure why it's not displaying for you. Hi Jennifer, I reported a bug similar to this in a very late beta release, I can try and find the post if it'll help you. ETA...

Re: Line Spacing missing from Project Ssettings

Hi Zorriha, Thanks for including the image, that helped. Line spacing is there, you just need to grab the edge of the window with your mouse and pull the screen wider. :D The beta version of Scrivener had a bug where the program wasn't correctly indicating when additional screen elements were offscr...

What version # of Scrivener are you running? Please describe what you mean by "it won't work". What step in the process is failing?

Re: Need Scrivener Expert to help me format Short Story collection

Would be great if anyone on here could share a template for short story collection. I tried to download some from older posts but they don't work with newest version on Mac. Hi Gully, Attached is a template I downloaded from these forums last year. I don't recall the original post, but the template...

Re: File names of search results?

The search function will take me to each occurrence in the entire manuscript, but I can see no way to identify which of the 120 text files the occurrence was discovered. Hi Boruto, It sounds to me like you are using Find (Edit > Find > Find). Instead, try Project Search (Edit > Find > Project Searc...

Re: Scrivenings toggle not working. (unable to switch between group and single file)

The Scrivenings toggle works for me. For test #1, I opened a fresh copy of the Tutorial, and selected the Draft Folder. The Editor opened in Corkboard mode, displaying the 3x top level folders. I clicked on the Scrivenings toggle. The Editor view shifted to Scrivenings mode, displaying the contents ...
