Re: Slight Bug / Misfeature in Outliner

Ah, thanks for explaining again. I think I got it this time. So, if you look at screenshot 1 (below), I have explicitly chosen the top-level item to obtain information about. My thought / goal is that selecting it will tell me the aggregate count for the sub-items it contains. However, it only shows...

Re: Is there a viewable master legend that tracks all color-coded keywords for quick reference?

For a list of *all* keyword, do Project > Project Keywords. For keywords assigned to a specific item, select the item in the Binder or Corkboard or Outliner. In the Inspector, go to the Custom Metadata tab. The Keywords assigned to that item will be listed. Are either of them what you're looking for...

Re: Slight Bug / Misfeature in Outliner

In your last screenshot, the top level item is "Kids: All or nothing".

I can see from its Outliner row that this item contains 0 words, and that its child items contain a total of 1,859 words.

What is Scrivener not showing here that you'd like to see?

Re: Slight Bug / Misfeature in Outliner

The one detail that *might* be important here-- I don't know, just saying for completeness-- is that these are "TEXT-FILE FOLDERS" as opposed to being just "FOLDERS", in case that makes a difference. It doesn't, but thanks. I don't think you're being difficult at all, but I do t...

Re: Slight Bug / Misfeature in Outliner

jjwhitten, just to be clear, I'm not asking you to recreate/rewrite *all* of your examples with the necessary context. But if you think you've found a bug, you'll need to provide an example of the bug with the context I'm requesting. I'm not trying to be difficult--this isn't for me--this is informa...

Re: Slight Bug / Misfeature in Outliner

However, the "bug" that I noticed, is still there, regardless of what we call "scrivenings" mode. :-) Do one of your screenshots depict the "bug"? It's impossible to tell, because the screenshots do not contain the necessary context. Here's what's important for you to ...

Re: Slight Bug / Misfeature in Outliner

I just did that on a text folder I know has around 3600 words in it, and it tells me ONE word (which is a word that's legitimately in the file, so it isn't wrong, it just doesn't show me the aggregated count). This is because, based on your screenshot, it seems that you were in single binder item m...

Re: Is Scrivener 3 really that much better than 1.9 for windows?

Out of curiosity, what aspect of the inspector are you referring to as having changed for the worse? I'll let TribalRose speak for himself/herself, but one change to the Inspector that I've heard folks complain about is the move of General Metadata. In v3.0, General Metadata was moved to a dedicate...

Re: All confidence in Scrivener (3 years worth) lost, it is garbage

Hi tarzanof mars, I'm sorry you lost work. I've been there, it's a nightmare. In neither of your posts did you specifically mention your zipped backups. These are what's supposed to save you in events such as this. Are you able to find them? If so, don't open them, because depending on your backups ...

Re: Scrivener 3.0.1.0 broke TouchCursor

I just had to uninstall/reinstall v3 to solve another issue, but based on that experience, wanted to amend my post above. - The uninstall process doesn't touch the Application Support folder, so no need to make a copy as I suggested. - If you've replaced the default dictionary with a custom dictiona...

Re: Scrivener 3.0.1.0 broke TouchCursor

Can I downgrade to version 3.0...? I don't see why not. If 3.0.0 worked for you before, it will work now. :D A downgrade would be a complete uninstall of 3.0.1 and then an install of 3.0.0. This will *not* impact your project data, although you'll lose things like your Recent Projects setting. Also...

Re: 'Alias' for Binder items?

Update : Using the "Open as Quick Reference" feature with the Project Bookmarks option has prompted me to re-think how I've organized my Binder to begin with - Thank you again!! I prefer v3’s interface to v1.9’s, but it’s the new features like Quick Ref and Project Bookmarks , and to a le...

Re: Which MultiMarkdowns are supported

Does Scrivener not support all MMD commands? And where do I find what exactly Scrivener does support? Thanks for your help! Hi NoVo, I know nothing about mmd, so cannot answer your question. I do know, however, that the manual (Help > Scrivener Manual) has a complete chapter 21 on Using Multi...
