Re: Scrivener for organising poetry ?

Hi landyvlad, I'm not a poet, but every now and then I notice someone posting here with poetry-related questions and tips. If you haven't already done so, you might try searching these forums for 'poetry'. Here is a thread that might interest you: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.p...

Re: RC19 Interface bug on Formatting Options screen

Hi Jestar, Thanks for your input. Note that once you have expanded it out, the new window size is remembered and you won't see the little arrows as shown here. Yes, that's the way it works for me too. Nor does it seem to allow you to shrink it back to the original size to get the arrows back. I'm no...

[LH4540] RC19 Interface bug on Formatting Options screen

When I navigate to the Formatting Options screen, I see this: Formatting defaults Unexpanded.jpg There are no visible options to set Line and Paragraph spacing. To the right of the highlighting toggle, there are double arrows to display additional hidden options, but these arrows are grayed and don'...

Re: Project/Backup Recovery

I thought I was working from the new folder but everything kept saving to the original location (which I did not know was still there). Glad you got it sorted. To keep unpleasant surprises like this from happening again, consider displaying the full project path in the Scrivener title bar. This wil...

Re: Persistent Settings Needed BEFORE release

Hi Wordjoy,

I hope you don't think I was dismissing the value of your Wish List request. I was clarifying what you can do *now* to ensure you never lose your settings again, in the event of a planned or unplanned circumstance. :D

Best,
Jim

Re: Persistent Settings Needed BEFORE release

F12 / Manage, at very bottom left / then, Save options to file (being sure to include OPTIONS in the file name), and also Save Theme Options to file (being sure to mention Theme Options in the file name too). Good advice. Save Options to file saves all Scrivener options. Save Theme to file saves a ...

Re: Mouse wheel scrolls too much in Outliner

Just to be clear, the issue seems to be that the scroll setting is applied to rows in the outline rather than lines of actual text. This means scrolling makes the screen jerk horribly. I copied in varying amounts of text into the Synopsis field, and I'm not seeing any jerkiness when scrolling at th...

Re: Mouse wheel scrolls too much in Outliner

I thought the device might make a difference.

My normal device is the excellent Perixx Perimice-720 trackball mouse.

I also tried my settings with a Logitech mouse and got the same results.

Re: Mouse wheel scrolls too much in Outliner

Do your settings work when you have Title and Synopsis showing (and the synopses can be several lines) ? I'm now on RC19. Starting with a fresh copy of the Tutorial, which has Title and Synopsis showing by default: I select the Draft folder Select Outliner mode Click on folder 1. The Basics in the ...

Re: Q: Binder as standard new project set-up

Hi Laleah, Welcome to Scrivener and the message forum. :D I'm assuming that you are using Windows Scrivener v1.9.16 (Help > About). I've created a set-up for my binder which I would love to use for all of my fiction projects in the future. Project Templates (not to be confused with Document Template...

Re: Mouse wheel scrolls too much in Outliner

I'm on Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19042 and RC18. Under Windows Mouse Settings, the settings "Roll the mouse wheel to scroll" and "Choose how many lines to scroll each time" work together to determine scrolling velocity of my mouse wheel. These settings directly impact scrolling...

Re: Highlight Binder sections containing search result

After you've run the search and the binder is displaying the results, select the full set of results and then right-click and choose Reveal in Binder. This will keep all the items selected while displaying them in context of the full binder. Jennifer, Taking this approach would never have occurred ...

Re: is it possible to search the scratchpad ?

Folks, thank you for this discussion and for sharing the scratch pad project. The template imported well into the Win 3 beta, only needed to remove extraneous Outliner columns from the upper window.

Best,
Jim

Re: Mystery and Pulp Fiction Templates

Hey L'escritora, thank you so much for sharing these templates. Very cool of you.

I'd seen Lester Dent's "rules' before online, but it's brilliant that you've put them in a template! :D

FYI, I was able to easily load them into the Windows v3 beta.

Best,
Jim
