Re: Cannot set "Project Keywords" as a column in the Outliner

Hi Bryanne,

This can’t be done with the current Windows version.

The YouTube tutorial is showing the Mac version. When the next version of Windows Scrivener is released, it sholuld also have that capability . My understanding is that L&L hopes to have it out sometime this year.

Re: How can one export / import all of one's settings to another / new version of Scrivener?

I haven’t found a way in Win Scriv to save/restore toolbar settings, so I take a screenshot of old and rebuild by hand in new, which is a pain but always takes less time to do then I think it will. :)

I’m interested to learn if anyone’s got a better way.

As per the beta 6 release notes, the compiler is not yet fully functional.

Re: Lock Edits

No, there is no lock function. Why not compile/export to pdf? And get yourself an iPad Mini for the sermons? Second, I really like being able to make last min edits of stuff I think about before sermon time. and the sync feature between laptop and phone is really handy. Even with your phone, give L...

Re: Lost Backup FIles

It's possible you might be able to recover some of your lost revisions. Scrivener keeps the text for each document in your project in an .rtf file. In Windows Scriv, these files are in the following folder path: YourProjectname.scriv > Files > Docs The Mac has either the same naming convention or so...

As this involves the Windows Beta version, you may want to request an admin to move your post to the Windows Beta forum. The developers are more likely to see it there. :)

Re: Lost Backup FIles

OP, sorry if you've already answered this, but I don't recall it.

Scrivener default setting is to take backups of a project when you close the project.

Have you been closing your project on a daily basis, or leaving it open for days/weeks at a time?

Re: Lost Backup FIles

Is your project in DropBox because you are sharing it between machines?

Re: Syncing Scrivener on iOS takes a long time

It’s not like I’ve been timing it, but DropBox syncing does seem to be faster for me, say in last week or two. Just another data point.

Tom, rdale is talking about default *compile* presets, and you are referring to the default project templates. Paperback novel is indeed a compile preset in Windows 1.9.

Re: No button option for 'no split'

1.9 always displays explicit "No Split" buttons on the Header View. One of the first things I noticed in the Beta was that these are gone. So to answer the OP, yes, I am 99% sure this is intentional, otherwise why make so radical a change. One easy way to confirm--and to confirm any other q...

Thanks for linking to that shortcut list, Ioa. After working exclusively on my PC for a few months, I'm back to working on iOS Scriv on a daily basis, but I'd forgotten most of those!

Re: iOS keeps changing formatting

What version desktop Scriv are you using and what version iOS Scriv please?

That might help in figuring it out.
