Re: Can't italicize when in composition mode when moving between text

Thanks for the instructions!

Tested this out, and it seems to be the same for me as well -- seems to be exclusive to Composition Mode, as it works fine in the regular editor, and does indeed seem to fix itself on 'rebooting' Comp Mode.

Re: [RC1] Copy As Markdown still adds extra line spaces.

Thanks all, for the clarification! What was broken is that it was adding lines on top of empty lines. So if your text was already double-spaced then it would end up quadruple-spaced. There are around a dozen other contingencies and edge cases beyond that simple declaration, so it’s more complicated ...

Re: [RC1] Copy As Markdown still adds extra line spaces.

I’m not sure what else you’re asking for clarification on, sorry. :) I think what's tripping me up is that it is working the way it's programmed to, but also not working the way it was intended to. I can't quite make out whether that means it's a flaw in the way I'm using the function myself, and t...

Re: [RC1] Copy As Markdown still adds extra line spaces.

The excessive line padding is not how it is meant to work though. It should only add padding if it necessary to do so. So, just to check, that would make the extra spacing a bug, rather than expected behaviour? (Apologies for my own lack of comprehension, here -- the above post mentioning identical...

Re: [RC1] Copy As Markdown still adds extra line spaces.

Compile to Multi-Markdown, maybe? I tried this, and can't find a way to preserve both text and paragraph formatting. I don't use compile often, so may be missing something obvious, but compiling directly to MMD preserves the paragraph formatting but loses all other text formatting (bold, italic, et...

Re: [RC1] Copy As Markdown still adds extra line spaces.

Ahh, thanks for clarifying! In that case -- and just out of curiosity -- is there any intention of including a feature like the one in Windows 1.x, wherein you can simply convert the text formatting (bold, italics, etc) to Markdown and then just copy-paste the text as normal? Assuming such a functio...

[LH3875] [RC1] Copy As Markdown still adds extra line spaces.

Just thought I'd throw this one back out there as we're getting closer to release and we're looking at Release Candidate updates now -- apologies if this is still being worked on, but I couldn't see mention of it in any of the update notes. Using the 'copy as Markdown' function adds extra line space...

Re: Issues installing beta 19 update

I didn't have this exact problem, but I did encounter a fatal error while trying to install Beta 19 through the updater, which led to the program itself being unopenable. I assumed this was an error on my end -- my computer fell asleep between download and installation -- but since someone else has ...

Re: Question about pricing

But, just to confirm, if I buy it right now I won't get the free update right? As I understand, it's the opposite -- if you buy now, you will get the upgrade for free. The 20 November 2017 cutoff means that all purchases made after that date will get the free upgrade; only purchases made before tha...

Re: Scrollbars bug

Can confirm this behaviour, though I did need to change the fixed-width background colour in order to see it. The fixed-width background and scrollbar default colours are the same (at least on my screen), so this might not be immediately visible. Just a heads-up to (hopefully) make it easier to see/...

Re: Thanks for the update regarding release!

The way I'm looking at it, you've already given me Scrivener 3 for Windows, and you've agreed to postpone payment until you get the bugs sorted out. Works for me! Pretty much how I've been looking at it too! And if we can help squash (or, y'know, frantically wave a broom at) a few of those pesky bu...

[LH3662] Merging documents affects session target

Discovered by accident, but it doesn't seem to be expected behaviour, so I think it's worth reporting? When merging two documents into one, the word count of the second document seems to get added onto the session target, despite the fact that no new words are added and no text is changed. Using the...

Re: Scrivener 3 Windows Release

Why are some people in this thread acting like the only way they can write something is with a perfect program that has all the features anyone has ever asked for and absolutely no bugs? If you can't write without a certain program feature, then the problem is you, not the software. This, pretty mu...

Re: Bug: Line Spacing in default formatting settings...

I've noticed this behaviour as well -- I also like to default to 1.2x, though I've tried it with other values as well to the same effect. As a workaround in the meantime, I've found it works to create a new document, set up the line spacing I want, then, under the Format menu, select 'make formattin...
