[RC11] Minor Persistent Issue with Spell-Check and Contractions

Just a little thing, in the grand scheme of things, but possibly worth noting? In the first just to say I'm so happy to see the issue with the spell-checker and apostrophes is mostly fixed! That said, I've noticed it starts to recur again when the word is followed by punctuation. e.g., using the tro...

Re: Bug: Can't change multiple file icons in binder

Noticing this behaviour as well -- I'm fairly sure it's new to the current version, as I've had no trouble selecting and changing icons for multiple files before. Additionally, and possibly related to this selection issue, I've noticed that the available icons occasionally become greyed out and thus...

Re: Beta version expiring?

It's always a good idea to keep your work backed up when working in a beta. However, in terms of the current beta's expiry date, you shouldn't have anything to worry about -- to date, the Scrivener team have always released a new version before the expiration date of the existing version. Hope that ...

Re: Update within Beta

Also experiencing this problem! (ETA just to clarify: haven't downloaded manually yet -- was planning to do so in the morning -- so can't yet comment on the multiple-installations issue mentioned above; have thus far only experienced the 'all up to date' error listed in the first post, and didn't se...

Re: another super list of fixes

Seconding (thirding, fourthing, fifthing?) all of this. You guys have done remarkable work with this beta -- as someone who's been using it pretty much since its inception, it's been a joy to see it grow and evolve with each new version, and to (try and) help iron out the few bugs I've found. Lookin...

Re: Forced constant beta update

Running an absurd 2+ year beta trial and forcing users to go to a forum on a near bi-weekly basis to download upgrades, is messing them around. I'm not going to touch on anything else you've said here, but I will point out, just to try and help streamline your process, that the beta does have an in...

Re: Alternatives to Dropbox?

Rather than rushing out to find a Dropbox alternative (which there aren’t really) I’d be looking at why Dropbox won’t install. The requirements in terms of equipment spec are fairly minimal, so I’d expect that not to be the issue. (...) Have you contacted Dropbox support? Yep! And gone through all ...

Thanks, both! I'll definitely take a look into Sync, and have the linked advice page bookmarked for ease of reference -- thanks again! :)

Alternatives to Dropbox?

Apologies if this is a subject that's been covered at length -- all the threads I've found on it were some years old, and I'm not sure how reliably up-to-date that info' is, especially considering the Beta. I've been using Dropbox to sync with Scrivener for years now without any conflicts or errors,...

Oops, apparently that was it -- no idea why the new beta changed that particular setting, but switching it back did the trick! Apologies for the false report!

B37 -- not correctly recognising 'current editor' when working in split.

When using split editors in the new beta, I'm having trouble getting Scrivener to recognise which one is 'current' -- the highlighted editor seems to be the one I'm not actively typing in, and regardless of whether I have the behaviours under 'document links' set to 'open in current editor' or 'open...

[LH4141][Beta28] An outstanding bug RE: font-changing on reopen.

I was going to post this as a reply to my previous thread on this subject (https://www.literatureandlatte.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=59317 ), but searching through the forum there seems to be an existing mention of this specific font that predates mine (https://www.literatureandlatte.com/for...

Re: Bug: Fixed editor's width changes after reaching certain amount of text

That's the scrollbar -- in the second image, you've input enough text that the scrollbar appears, taking up part of the right margin. I'm not sure why the scrollbar appears within the fixed-with boundaries rather than outside it, but as far as I know Scrivener has always done this. I tend to work ar...

Re: Latest beta expiring in middle of Nanowirmo month? That would be very cruel.

Or do your writing in Scrivener 3, and at the end of each writing session copy and paste the text into Scrivener 1 (you can have both running simultaneously) This has been my method for a long time now. V3 is too aesthetically pleasing and has too many great features for me not to want to do the bu...
