Some people prefer the minimalist dotted lines.

Thanks for that Devin; I'm definitely one of those who like the minimalist dots and am very happy with the present choices.

Re: updates do not remove previous entries in SETTINGS-APPs

The problem is, I don't think it's leaving the full installs behind -- it's just not cleaning up the traces properly. That seems to be what’s been happening on my PC. So, with Beta 21 (I think it was), I uninstalled Scrivener, used CCleaner to scrub the registry and then downloaded and installed th...

Where is the list of bug ticket numbers?

I have seen a couple of references to this on the forums, but cannot find it online. I don't want to keep reporting known bugs that are on the "still-to-be-fixed" list, so I would like to check that list before posting. Thanks.

Just checked in Beta 23 and the problem is still there. I know it wasn't on the "fixed" list but I'm hoping it won't get forgotten (even though it's only trivial). Thanks,

Just downloaded and installed Beta 23 and can confirm that this has been fixed successfully. Many thanks!

Re: Bug 2.9.0.22 beta, size issue with option window, unable to click

Maybe because I use a 14 inches screen laptop??? "High DPI" mode is also enabled. Seems unlikely, because the screen resolution ought to determine what is visible, not the physical size of the screen. Try turning off High DPI mode and see if that helps? Perhaps you need to double-check yo...

Re: Patience is a virtue

I feel the same; the beta is working really well (for me) and I'm very impressed with the hard work that is clearly going into getting it ready. No complaints about the delay; I'd rather have a finished product.

Re: Bug 2.9.0.22 beta, size issue with option window, unable to click

Hi, Everytime I open the option window from files, the size is to big. I can't move it or shrink it enough to be able to see the buttons at the bottom. To see them, I have to change the screen resolution scaling settings. Sometimes (not always and some color modes are better than others), when I ch...

Re: Compatibility between Version 1 and Beta

Hi, I am currently using the Beta version. So, I have written some docs now. Last night, I felt like the old one is so better that I installed the old one. But, the old one cannot read my new docs(Beta version). How can I open my new docs with the Old one?? Thank you in advance. The beta notes make...

Re: [Beta 22] Hard to use unstyled paste in footnotes

I am afraid I could not reproduce this. Can you please provide more info about how you create the notes and the steps, including the shortcuts that you trigger. Using Ctrl+V and Ctrl+Shift+V works out of the box with a new comment created with a shortcut Shift+F4. Simply cut some text from your doc...

[LH3985] [Beta 22] Hard to use unstyled paste in footnotes

I have reported this before, and it's hardly crucial, but when you insert a new footnote it is highlighted in the Inspector panel, but you cannot do an unstyled paste directly into it. Weirdly, you can start typing straight away, or you can hit Ctrl-V, but Ctrl-Shift-V does not work: you have to tak...

Re: Note to Beta Testers: Compile

I'm not sure how pointing out support resources for the new Compile feature counts as "ridicule." I First and foremost you told as we''d have no clue what we are doing. Pointing to resources came as an afterthought to that. Having read all the posts in this thread, I think you’re the only...

[Beta 21] All Caps and spelling check

Scrivener flags people's initials as spelling mistakes (at least, when using the U.K. English dictionary), so I have to add every possible combination (from H.G. Wells to J.B.S. Haldane, etc, etc.) to stop them being underlined every time I type them (and for three initials there are over 4,000 comb...

Re: dialog box of the corkboard options is too small (beta 20, Windows 7)

10 is easily the best so far. No, it's not. Besides, the end of MS support for the OS doesn't mean people will stop using it. The user base for Win 7 is equal to the user base of Win 10. That's not going to change soon. The old machines, and there is a lot of them still out there, will continue to ...

Re: dialog box of the corkboard options is too small (beta 20, Windows 7)

As official Microsoft support for Windows 7 ends in a few months, it seems a bit unlikely that L&L will fix this (or other Win7-specific bugs). Personally, I would strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 10 -- having used every version of WIndows since /286 (i.e. before Win3!), 10 is easily the ...
