Re: Scrivener 3 (Windows)

Yes, at the moment Version 3 is for the Mac only. The Windows Version 3 is still in beta, but it is hoped that it will be released this year. If you look at the Windows Beta forum you can download the beta — but it's still relatively early and not all the functions are working yet, so you probably ...

Scrivener 3 (Windows)

Hi,

I am keen to upgrade to Scrivener 3 but I’d like to confirm that upgrading from Scrivener 1 (bought a couple of years back) will cost me a $25 upgrade fee.

EDIT: Ah! There is no version 3 for Windows ... is that right?

Thx

Novel Editing Issues

OK, So, I am liaising with the owner and editor of the company to which I have sent my first book manuscript (science fiction) and I am having a few problems with some of the things they want to do to it so I want to try and gauge people's thoughts on this. The editor has 27 years of editing experie...

Pre-Publishing Digital Archive

OK, So, I'm just about to pass my first novel over for whatever happens to it pre-publishing and I heard during a talk that there were places you could store a copy of everything you've done to date such that, if you lost your work you would have a copy as well something that could effectively prove...

Re: Science Fiction Artwork

Google Image searches can be narrowed to only include images that are high resolution and whose copyright status allows them to be used for commercial purposes (you probably need the version that allows modification). You can find these settings after doing your initial image search under the Searc...

No idea where to find free art other than the usual stock art suspects, but think about what you're asking for a minute. ... ... Just some thoughts. Thanks ... yes, I had considered some kind of percentage deal but I'd been told that no one would consider it because I've no idea how much I'll make ...

Science Fiction Artwork

OK, So, I have more-or-less finished writing my first book, a future alternate history. Long story short, I have been liaising indirectly (through my oldest daughter) with a young artist but have been unable to get much more than a couple of samples when what I really want is a quote and an ETA. The...

Additional Book Materials

Hi, So I have just about completed my first novel, needs a final read through, and I want some advice on additional material to include. It's the first book of an alternative history trilogy and so far I have the following: Front • The title page (obviously, I'm getting the artwork done for this) • ...

Best Fonts For ...

OK, So hopefully this is the best forum for this (as opposed to "Scrivener for Windows") or whatever. What are your preferred fonts for typing (as in working in) and publishing? And talking of publishing would you use a different font when publishing an ebook as opposed to a book that you ...

Re: Amazing AI technology invents new genre

I thought it was fascinating. Weird, non-sensical but (because it was written by a machine) intriguing.

Re: Character Names

Hi, Didn't even know about the Scrivener facility which is fine if all you want is a name. I use a website called Fake Name Generator because it does what Scrivener does but also creates the beginnings of a profile which includes things like fake address, phone number, birthday, age, star sign (some...

Online Copyright Store

Hello, I've nearly finished my first book and I want to hand it to my reviewers whom I trust for the most part but, life being life, I cannot be one hundred percent sure of. Although I think it would be easy enough to prove ownership of my own novel (in addition to the novel itself, I have a website...
