Re: Is the Beta safe for real work?

I switched to the beta several months ago for all my work, including a large, multi-year book project (after using it for a while for only short articles). I'm not doing any compiling, so that hasn't been an issue, and I find it overall more stable for a very large project than 1.9 (last non-beta). ...

Re: the menus could use some re-organizing

I'm using Windows 2.9.0.35 Beta Yes, i can see the logic behind how they are the way they are now, but as a (longtime, daily) user of the software, it is confusing. If there is any interest in re-thinking the menus, i'd be happy to write out a more thorough comment on where i see the inconsistencies.

[Suggestion] the menus could use some re-organizing

The logic of the menus could use some rethinking. For example, I think it would make sense to keep menu items that deal with customizing the interface together. Right now, themes (including loading and saving them) is under "window", while the actual customization of the themes is in Optio...

Set top/bottom margins separately from left/right

I would like to be able to set the side margins in the editor independently of setting the top and bottom margins of a page/scrivening. I like having a lot of white space around the text, separating it from the binder and inspector and from the border of the editor. However, if I make those margins ...

Re: Highlight Current Line color

Have you tried file->options->appearance->colors->editor->current line color ?

(works for me)

Re: moving book to Beta

No, I have plenty of files!
I had to split the book into two separate projects to keep it from crashing.

Re: Is it possible to convert back?

Also, you don't have to say yes to the new versions until the one you are using expires.
You can just say no and it will work with the version you have installed until the expiration date.

Re: moving book to Beta

Thanks Amber! And yes, I've been using the beta for small projects and it did indeed seem more solid. And I keep LOTS of backups. I am quite glad that the creators of Scrivener have allowed their users the choice of whether to stick with version 1 or move to the beta of 3, with enough information so...

moving book to Beta

A leap of faith... I've been using both Scrivener and the beta side by side -- the beta for shorter articles but keeping my main book project in the officially released version. I was very hesitant to move an important (to me at least :) ) project to a beta version. However, the book is Very Big. I'...

ver 1.6.1.0 crashes running Tutorial

I am going through the tutorial running ver. 1.6.1.0 and it has crashed several times (remains on screen but is absolutely unresponsive and has to be killed w/ task manager). One repeatable one is clicking (either right or left) on the ThisIsBuzzAldrin media immediate renders it unreponsve.
